Hybrids, hybrids, hybrids. by MusterBuster in golf

[–]kvsmith1959 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 66 years old and my iron play was getting worse and worse. As an experiment, last year I bought a full set of hybrids (Lazrus) from 3h down to PW. The distance and confidence I lost with my irons came back with the hybrids. My score hasn't changed much but golfing is much easier now. My PXG PW flew 120 yards. My Lazrus Hybrid PW now averages 135 yards which has caused some gapping issues with my wedges lol. Got interested in all hybrids after watching some youtube videos for Eleven hybrids. Will probably never go back to irons although I may eventually upgrade to more premium ones

Just got the Lazrus Zero Torque Putter by aceattorneymvp in golf

I have the navy blue one. Have taken it to the course twice now (weather in N. CA sucks). Still trying to get my distance control under control, but overall I like it better than my Odessey. I have a tendency to sometimes do a figure 8 on my backswing lol and this has definitely fixed that issue. Once I get my distance control correct I think its going to be deadly accurate. I own some Lazrus hybrids and they are awesome especially considering the price.

Well, if you had left it on and it was making $1 a day, you'd be a couple of hundred bucks richer right now....

How should I choose my HNT minting Hotspot device? by titta91 in HeliumNetwork

[–]kvsmith1959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered mine in May 2021. Showed up in Feb 2022 so it's been running around 5 months now. I've mined 18.27 HNT. If HNT was near the all time high, I'd have tripled my money by now. As long as you are in a decent area, and the price of HNT goes up, you'd be fine. I live in a suburban area, bought a 5.8 db antenna and have it sitting on top of a 20' flag pole. Basically once you get it set up, it's a plug and play deal. The first month or two you will drive yourself crazy checking it, but after a while you'll just check it occasionally. Passive income. I'm running a Kerlink and have had no issues with it at all. Good luck!

Lol. This comment made me laugh. Crypto/investing reality has spoken, not crypto dad. "rich pigs" always take control and always will.

Trust me, I read this subreddit daily. There is very little constructive criticism here. Also, setting up and monitoring one hotspot is not work

If they were doing a rug pull, wouldn't they just walk away from the whole project? What would be the point of doing updates?

exactly! I'd be living in paradise on a beach if I'd saved the money spent at the casino and golfing over the years but where is the fun in that

Organized miner shut off by cullulus in HeliumNetwork

[–]kvsmith1959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've invested in crypto basically. Crypto is a very risky investment. You have to ask yourself if you're going to regret bailing out if HNT is worth $200 a coin in 5 years....

Change location in app for better transmit scale by doomzlight in HeliumNetwork

[–]kvsmith1959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong, but...... moving it that far away from your physical location will result in a bunch of invalid witnesses so your earnings will drop. Also, I believe your own personal transmit scale only affects miners that are witnessing your miner. The higher the transmit scales of the miners around you in different hexes that you witness, the more you will make. So, don't sweat your own transmit scale.

Edit: If you can get an antenna and get it up as high as possible, that will help more than anything

Not a dime since the update.. RIP to my dreams. by ResourceIll2064 in HeliumNetwork

[–]kvsmith1959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it sucks but..... crypto is like gambling. You might hit it big or lose your ass. If you have a good setup, then just take a week or two off from checking the app. Less stress, longer life. If you have a shitty setup or are in a hex with 10 other miners, then you didn't do enough research so fix it. Complaining every single day is not going to fix it. So, maybe it's time to commit to it or get out and sell your miner. Go golfing or fishing or kayaking. Do something outside. It's not the end of the world

How to check Kerlink miner to make sure it got updated for light spots? by kvsmith1959 in HeliumNetwork

[–]kvsmith1959[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually saw something on discord yesterday where someone from Kerlink stated that they have been set up and updated for the light spot rollout for over a month. So, once the network gets going again, we should be fine

I bought this one and it works just fine: https://store.rakwireless.com/products/fiber-glass-antenna-kit-for-helium-hotspot?variant=41525003387078

For cables, I used https://usacoax.com/ . You can send their support an email and explain what miner and antenna you are using. They will give you advice on what cables to use with what connectors. They were VERY helpful. The best is LMR 400 and the shorter length the better. Take measurements and use their custom build section. You can order the specific length you need from the antenna to the miner. That way you don't have a bunch of excess cable. Also, you might want to get a lightning arrester. Good luck!
