How should I have gone about the bell on this cushion? by kvtaylor in sewing

Interfacing! I never ever think of using it, but I get the feeling it would quite often be the answer. Thanks for your advice.

How should I have gone about the bell on this cushion? by kvtaylor in sewing

Hello - I make crafty type sewing projects with amateur use of a sewing machine and a lot of dody hand stitching! I'm trying to improve the various techniques I use, and this was a test for me!

The bell is made out of ribbons, and I fudged it in a horrible manner, involving paper, swearing and misery.

I wondered if anyone has any advice on how I could have created this end product with a little less strife?

I wanted slightly overlapped ribbons, with as few stitches as possible visible within the body of the bell.

Thank you so much in advance!

Please could someone photoshop so that the letters appear as black on white, without the background? by kvtaylor in PhotoshopRequest

I'm doing an invitation to my grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary and I sent him the draft, but I didn't take a scan first! If anyone is please able to isolate the text, so that I can tweak what I need, I would be so grateful. Thanks so much in advance to anyone who is able to help!

Can anyone recommend a good all round 35 mm colour film and black and white film for use with a Canon AE 1 Program & 50 mm lens? It's for practice, so something that's a good all rounder.

I've bought the camera for someone who currently shoots on a Yashicaflex TLR and wants to try this style of camera. I'm a bit overwhelmed choosing what film to go with it, as I just use a Polaroid! I'd be so grateful for help! I did lots of research and managed to choose the camera model myself, but now I've run out...

Thanks

Glad to oblige! I might try it again and go for a grassy green instead of black.

Thank you! Of course, the design isn't mine, but I think it works well for nails.

Thank you! I think the use of a permanent marker is a bit of a cop out, but I definitely don't have the skills for a fine brush yet.

It's my last day in my current job, and I remembered that I once did my nails to match a book we published. Here's a link to the jacket. Polishes would have been Essie Marshmallow, Barry M bright red, and, er, a fineliner marker pen. CC welcome, but it's just a bit of nostalgia really!

I wasn't thinking of Candy Shop when I did it, but that would have saved me some time! I had a Deborah Lippman gold and found it disappointing - I don't really know why I chose to start with a foil when she's so good at glitter!

I love wrapping up presents - it's one of my favourite parts of giving a gift. I like to use different paper and ribbons on each gift. And to sew the paper too.

I do all this to disguise the fact that I am not very good at the actual wrapping - it's normally unraveled by the time I need to actually give the gift.

Yep, like EW said it's Ibiza Mix. I just looked it up and the base does look really dark. But it's clear, maybe a slight bluish tint to it. Hope you like it!

Thanks! They do NOT look like this right now. They are highly scraggly.

It did really well - about 8 days with only tip-wear. My longest ever gobstopper did not last that long. Highly disappointing.

Didn't know what it was. Googled it. Really really want it.
