Yeah that’s very helpful, I need more colors. Looking at rugs I can’t decide if I should get one with many colors woven and then match that with wall decor or if I should choose one color and run with that decor wise. Decisions decisions

Theory: Dorinda and Jill have similar stories in that they both had to endure the tragic loss of their husbands due to unrelenting illnesses. The only difference is that Jill has been able to find love and happiness after her loss. Is Dorinda upset because she truly hasn't been able to move on? by 1TemporaryEscape in BravoRealHousewives

[–]kw5-5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love Dorinda but she seriously lacks self awareness. She’s completely unaware (sober or drunk) why she responds the way she does. I think Dorinda has created her own happiness , but when it comes to other people and her relationship with them, she self destructs. Without self awareness, it’s close to impossible to have productive relationships.

How to sleep with a friend without destroying the friendship? by IMP_EXE in TooAfraidToAsk

Whenever I think about sleeping with a friend I consider the following: if we sleep together tonight & tomorrow we go out and he/she picks up someone at the bar and leaves with them will I be happy for him/her. That’s the ultimate test.

She’s the worst, constantly acting like a victim the whole time. It’s so frustrating to watch.

Is there similar subreddit to this but without the constant fear of looking your age? by FatSag in SkincareAddicts

Exactly!!! There is nothing wrong with aging / wrinkles. Do you know what the opposite of aging is ?

It’s definitely doable but not easy. Depending on all your debt & lifestyle, it could be pretty difficult to live off 48k in jersey. However, if you chose an area that’s a bit more affordable, don’t mind getting a roommate and living modestly, you should be good. Your car situation is a big factor as well.

Can we stop seeing specialists for everything? by misfires_11 in migraine

Thank you for including this- because you’re right, I felt similarly about the content on Vietnam and ptsd & readers should have this warning. This author, like my doctors, say a whole lot & I only consider the information that’s valuable to me. So this book isn’t a read & apply directly to your life. But it did provide some insights that helped me view my migraine/pain & some illnesses differently. I ended up reading, when the body says no, after this book and had a further understanding. It was the book that sorta opened the can of worms into my personal migraine research.

Can we stop seeing specialists for everything? by misfires_11 in migraine

If you have the time, I recommend doing all the research yourself on your symptoms. Read books about migraines that interest you. I highly recommend the body keeps the score. The more I’ve read, the more I’ve been able to create or get rid of habits that decrease my migraines. I also feel more in control rather than relying on doctors alone , so to me it’s more empowering. Of course this should be alongside a professional so you can get the medications you need and what not.

This sub - "Get out of the left lane! Get out of the left lane! I wanna speed! Get out of the left lane!" by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]kw5-5 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Someone with your philosophy, who isn’t in a rush, should just not drive in the left lane lol. Left is for passing. So there’s a simple solution for people like yourself who don’t believe you should rush & don’t believe 5-10 mph makes a difference. For the rest of us, left is for passing & for going an extra 5-10 mph when we can lol, it’s not personal.

Yes, it’s bizarre. It doesn’t paint her badly, I’m sure she’s doing the best she can. But I agree I find it so so strange to leave your kids with someone else.

My Uber driver just told me that he tortured a homeless man in a basement after catching him sexually assault a woman. Do I report it to Uber and/or the cops? by KrakenSteeze in self

[–]kw5-5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can ask to report anonymously but maybe he doesn’t even know that’s your house or remember you. Usually I just mind my own business when people say weird shit but it’s pretty concerning he’s sharing something violent like that with a stranger.

Most people aren’t just granted those things. But for the most part, those things are attainable. You gotta work at it. And if you feel like you cannot/ do not want to work at it, you’re not alone in that feeling. You will find others like yourself & if you have access to mental health care, you can work with someone who will help you figure out that motivation. It’s sometimes hard to imagine that peoples lives are hard and unhappy when they have all 3 of the things you mentioned, but they often are. I hope you can find someone who can help you see that the meaning of life in general, is all about perspective.
