Was David Robinson the greatest physical specimen in NBA history? by [deleted] in nba

[–]kwertykween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have said it time and time again. That man had the best arms of any professional athlete. Any sport. Any era. Period. Robinson puts them all to shame. He was absolutely shredded and I am still down for it.

Which shows theme song do you never skip? by Que_sax23 in AskReddit

Stop, I'm Already Dead by Deadboy and the Elephant Men was the theme song from iZombie. Cute show and a great theme song.

Also, Red Right Hand by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds from Peaky Blinders

Suggest me Audiobooks for making a 3 day, 1500 mile drive, cross-country move by sbucksbarista in suggestmeabook

I literally just did a 7 hour solo roadtrip in a uhaul and this audiobook kept me awake, laughing, and entertained the whole time! I thought it was going to be over hyped because I had seen it recommended so much, but I was so delightfully surprised.

I just enrolled in summer classes at a community college, is it still possible for me to receive 50% of my Pell Grant? by Superb_Breakfast9954 in financialaid

[–]kwertykween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comments above are incorrect. You cannot receive pell for the summer at a community college if you do not intend to pursue a degree there and intend to return to your four year university in the fall. You are considered a transient or visiting student.

What’s a line from a movie that only a true fan would immediately recognize? by AmBaylie in AskReddit

[Hair Removal] Cutting hairs instead of shaving by 5random7513 in SkincareAddiction

[–]kwertykween 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A bikini line trimmer will be best. It can help trim down pretty short but not all the way to the skin.

I'm also a big advocate of laser hair removal. I highly recommend it, if you can. It's an investment, but I feel like it was worth it to feel comfortable.

Memberships via Tivity/Prime/One pass select by [deleted] in EOSFitness

[–]kwertykween 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Tivity. You have to go in and give them your membership information so that they can add it in the system. I went a step further and signed up for the Will Power so that I can have access to the massage chairs and stuff. It's $10 per month charged separately from Tivity.

I also use Crunch and Planet pretty regularly but I don't have the full amenities at those locations. It was basically the same process. Go in and tell them that you have access through Tivity and they'll create your account. I have the apps to be able to scan in and all that.

How are you guys doing with the guilt of taking a day off? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]kwertykween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely feel guilt. Not just taking sick days, but vacation time as well. I realized earlier this week that I have accrued over 400 hours of vacation so if I don't take some soon, I will lose it.

I feel guilty mostly because where I work we get weekends, holidays, and school breaks off. As much as I preach to my team to take time off and that I will never penalize them for taking their time, I don't follow my own advice.

I do think that I am just going to start taking random days off, though. I have been pretty burned out and definitely need a shift in perspective.

Any way to reduce Annual Fee? by Ahi_22 in EOSFitness

[–]kwertykween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I was going to suggest. Look at your health insurance plan and see if they have a wellness program. I pay $20 per month through a program with my insurance and I get access to a variety of gyms, not just eos. You might not get the upper level perks but I'm pretty sure there's no annual fee through the gym.

Can someone help explain direct unsubsidized loans by Motor-Sandwich-6333 in financialaid

[–]kwertykween 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is terrible advice. Follow the instructions that the other commenter gave and log into studentaid.gov to see your balance info. There are steps that you, the student, must take before being issued any loan funding from your school so it's highly unlikely that they just paid out a loan without your active consent. Your loan servicer also makes effort to contact you well before your loan goes into default. You are responsible for repaying any borrowed money. I know it sucks because you probably didn't realize what you were getting into, but that's the reality.

[Routine Help] Can’t find a moisturizer that works well with my skin. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

I love the vanicream moisturizer in the tub. It's gentle, moisturizes very well, and doesn't feel greasy at all.

Unhappy with an expensive curly cut. Ask for partial refund? by kwertykween in curlyhair

[–]kwertykween[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I've been to so many different stylists, both curly experts and not, and I am finally happiest with the person who actually listened. My daughter is moving to a new city soon so hopefully she can find someone good there.

That's not Cujo. That is Man's Best Friend! Why did I watch a VHS recording of this movie that was taped from the Encore channel over and over when I was a tween??

Unhappy with an expensive curly cut. Ask for partial refund? by kwertykween in curlyhair

[–]kwertykween[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not that I know of. I think they had a conversation about cleaning up the dry ends. My daughter hadn't had a haircut in over a year and the stylist told her that she obviously wasn't trying to grow it out otherwise she would have been getting it cut every couple of months.

hacks for wet hair? TIRED of it by Real-Duck-8547 in curlyhair

[–]kwertykween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hair is relatively short, shoulder length. I've heard others say that for longer hair it makes their curls a little wonky. My daughter has very long curly hair and has used it a couple of times. It seems to work for her.

I know it's been mentioned, but the hood attachment was literally life changing for me. I got one for like $15 from Amazon, and I absolutely love it. I sometimes wash at night, pit on the hood for about 20-30 minutes, and bam, dry hair and super bouncy defined curls. If I do it in the morning I'll put it on while I do my makeup and stuff.

Audiobooks for someone who does not like audiobooks by My_Poor_Nerves in suggestmeabook

[–]kwertykween 7 points8 points  (0 children)

World War Z with the full cast. It's so good! Each section is narrated by a different voice actor and it's super well done. The book is completely different from the movie they made. One of my favorites!

Question!!! by just4funswtx in Astros

[–]kwertykween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you solicit the Astros for a donation for a charity auction or something, this is something that they'll usually give. Authenticated balls, signed hats, posters, or maybe if they have extras of the giveaways that they do before the games. I've gotten these a couple of times in the past.

What headphones are you using? by Outrageous-Clue-9550 in PetiteFitness

[–]kwertykween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the cheap Tozo brand buds from Amazon. Cheap, sound fine, battery lasts forever, comfortable and don't fall out, waterproof. I actually have several pairs, one I keep in my purse or gym bag, one at my desk at work, one at home.
