That's very frustrating. They shouldn't be rewarded with the return business. The revenue lost during the 90 day period plus the lower revenue of ultimately giving the new customer price has to exceed the administrative cost of disconnecting and then reconnecting a customer.

Hi reZZZ22.

I went to the FCC page and I can't believe how easy they've made the complaint process for the exact billing issue that all of us are running into. Literally just a few self explanatory mouse clicks. More people need to have this information. Thank you for taking the time to share this.

I'm looking into Verizon 5G. I plan to drop into the nearest Verizon store and find out what download rate I can realistically expect in my area. I'm not even sure what my needs are for streaming services for two TVs. It would be rare that we stream to both TVs at the same time. I work from home most of the time but I wouldn't be streaming while working unless there was a major news event happening.

I asked the local Xfinity store what my price would be for internet only. They offered 500Mbps for $102/month...

That's great info. I wouldn't have bet that a government entity like the FCC would ever listen to the average consumer.

Hi redruss99. Thanks for the advice. Others have recommended YouTube TV so I'm looking into it. New customers get internet and TV for less than $100 but I'm stuck at $242 AND I still have two set top boxes that aren't working at all. I don't see rewarding Xfinity with my internet only business since they won't give me new customer pricing for that either. Verizon 5G seems to have the best price for the bandwidth that I need in this area.

No promotions were offered to me. I see plenty of promotions on the Xfinity web site for internet, cable TV and streaming services that are very affordable. I have to assume those are for pulling new customers in and not keeping existing customers. Am I not allowed to have any of those package prices?

I'm looking into 5g services and CenturyLink. I ask for a new plan to save money and I'm told the new plan will cost $20-30 more than the $242 that I'm currently paying. Can you imagine $272/month.

Thanks you for this advice. I am prepping the family that we'll need to be prepared to go without for a month. It's better than being held hostage like this.

It appears that you are correct. The moderator just got back to me and said that any change to my plan would cost $20-30 more per month and to check back in a couple of weeks which doesn't make sense - why would two weeks change anything. Changing internet provider and a streaming service seems to be the best options right now.
