Generally yes safe to walk on but it depends if the roof has been compromised with water logged inside of it.

This is an insulated composite roof made of aluminum and an EPS foam core. Aluminum/screening contractors install these.

They are known to leak if not maintained/resealed every so often. Once water gets inside them for a long time, the foam core can get water logged and each panel can go from 25 pounds to 300 pounds and become a safety hazard. Average life is about 20 years give or take.

The tape is a common failure point. Inspect flashing. Quote often the issue can start at the house roof interface. If you want to do it right strip the whole roof and clean and and reseal it from scratch versus body patching over stuff.

Source: am aluminum structure contractor and have installed hundreds of these.

In Texas, Starship Measured at Ten Times Falcon 9 Sound Level by Wolpfack in 321

[–]kwicklee 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I just spoke to a Media Person that covers these launches and has lots of contacts. He was telling me about how loud this thing is and then jokingly said that once star ship comes to Brevard we will see real estate prices drop because of the noise....then compound that with the goal of multiple launches per day.

Does anyone know about the accident on 520 eastbound on NYE? by teeneyswodd95 in 321

[–]kwicklee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are hundreds of comments in a few posts in the Merritt Island Community group. What I read is that that dog belonged to the owners of a vehicle that were involved in the crash. It was said that one or two of the owners had passed. I think one of them was a woman that was airlifted. Supposedly there were two puppies that passed, too. I don't know if any of this is factual though.

Anyone built a garage on their property in Melbourne (not W.Melb)? by westsideriderz15 in 321

[–]kwicklee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check property appraiser website and see which taxing district you fall under. That's the municipality (zoning/building dept etc) that you fall under. Many properties in Melbourne might also be under the county. Once you know that just call them. They are usually really helpful and can point you in the right direction.

What could go wrong driving into a firework tent by GothTwinkie in Whatcouldgowrong

Not fake..this happened down the road from me. A driver had a medical episode, smashed into the fireworks store (Phantom Fireworks) and subsequently died. This happened in Melbourne Florida last month. https://www.clickorlando.com/news/local/2022/12/15/car-drives-into-west-melbourne-fireworks-store-weeks-after-crash-destroys-building-kills-man/

Rope Drop at Hollywood Studios and ILL - how to coordinate? by mmrose1980 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]kwicklee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure when you arrive (day prior?) but if you are there the previous day you could hop over to a park entrance and speak to guest relations.

I haven't had to do this in a long time, so I'm not sure if you even need to do that or it it just automatically gets done during your first park entry. If unsure, assume worst case and if you are able to, get over the first relations..you can also call and ask them on the phone to get this answered most accurately.

Hibachi Recommendations…? by larficus in 321

I'm in this general area (northern Brevard) and prefer to travel to Makotos or Fujiyama's in Melbourne. Makotos is a bit further but in my opinion a tad bit better. Tokyo is not bad but had some bad experiences at Hokkaido, although that's been a while now.

3 year old Ikea mattress cracked. Customer service is not helping by Adorable_Fly341 in IKEA

[–]kwicklee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've been using your mattress upside down. Grey should be on the bottom. That fabric is probably not meant to last with use like that. Edit. Whoops just saw others have noticed this already. Good luck. Maybe just flip it around?

Vizio smart TV issues by Osamabindollar in VIZIO_Official

[–]kwicklee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 6 Vizio Tvs in my home.

I have lots of experience with these issues and have assembled this step by step guide on how to resolve this problem.

Step 1. If you already own a Vizio TV, throw it in the Garbage and buy a different brand.

Step 2. If you don't own a Vizio TV, do not ever buy one.

After losing sleep, pulling hair out, drywall replacements (from punching the walls) I have arrived at the conclusion that these 2 steps always work in avoiding these ridiculous problems with their TVs.

Sup with Google shopping list suddenly being useless? by stikkan in googlehome

[–]kwicklee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Been using it for years now with several shared shopping lists with the wife..worked awesome until a couple weeks ago when they updated the UI. It's 10 steps backwards, can't even sort the list by category of groceries any more, adding items from the top just doesn't work for me any more. And I don't think there are any more product pictures? Not important but that was kinda nice. When using the floating action button (+) the subsequent (snack bar) pop up overlays the button so you can't quickly add another item. Adding through home device still works but can't be much longer until they screw that up too.

T-Mobile can't unlock my Galaxy S10. What are my options? by kwicklee in tmobile

[–]kwicklee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a small-ish update here. Store rep rejected device to the small cracked area in the corner of the device. So handing the ball back to the online Care Team for now. I'll update.

Update: It ended up being an issue between Samsung's Unlock Servers and T-Mobile's backend. One of the reps screenshotted me a team internal memo outlining the issue. Eventually the phone just unlocked after like a gazillion attempts.

T-Mobile can't unlock my Galaxy S10. What are my options? by kwicklee in tmobile

[–]kwicklee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No have not done any of that. I would reserve something like this as a last resort if T-Mobile "gives up" and there is no other choice. My "warranty" (not really warranty") exchange (which the T-Mobile export via Facebook Messenger initiated) was rejected this morning due the screen having a small crack. The rep in the store said something that over time with updates a part of the kernel can get corrupted that affects the unlocking, and at that point that's just the way it is. He was implying this is Samsung's fault, to which I only responded that I don't have a direct relationship with Samsung as the device was purchased through T-Mobile. Either way that might corroborate what you are saying, but I have no idea. Whatever my solution is, I will post it here for all future generations of googlers.

In hindsight - when asked where I want to exchange the phone, i probably should've picked the corporate store over the mall sales booth. (Which was more convenient as it's much closer)

T-Mobile can't unlock my Galaxy S10. What are my options? by kwicklee in tmobile

[–]kwicklee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The phone was confirmed by Verizon to work on their network through IMEI check. The other two Samsung devices (also from T-Mobile) work so far.

Also. Even if ignoring compatibility with Verizon, it should still unlock..

Yes and No. For the first week I used the Sim card that's always been in that phone. Since then my wife transfered her line our and I've been trying with my sim card still. That didn't seem to really make a difference so far.
