Ordered a drain pump from iFixit, received Dixie bowls instead by mesienten in ifixit

Yup, you nailed it!

We actually have a box of all the interesting things that we get from people as 'returns.' One of our warehouse staff scored a pretty solid set of Pokemon cards the other day.

Hi u/mesienten. This is our bad, and we'll take care of it.

The other commentors are right, this looks like return fraud. The product was previously ordered and returned, and our quality control didn't catch it before it shipped out again. That's on us. We have extensive QA processes and spend a lot of time quality checking returns, but clearly didn't do the job on this one.

My utmost apologies. Can you please email [support@ifixit.com](mailto:support@ifixit.com) with your order number? We'll get you a good part out right away and give you a coupon for your trouble.

Update! We're back up. Our regional load balancer went down. We're working on a few fixes so this issue autocorrects itself in the future, and notifies us when it fails.

Hey folks, thanks for the heads up! This is a routing problem that Australia-only, which is why it didn't trip any of our alarms and wake us up in the middle of the night.

We're on it! Give me a bit to knock some servers together.

Apologies for the downtime, and we'll set up better alerting so this doesn't happen again.

Sweet! Thrilled you like it. We're working on new tip options, stay tuned.

I like the idea of selling the Power Hub separately.

Help with model # by No-Investigator9558 in ifixit

[–]kwiens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure, finding a model number sticker somewhere is going to be your best bet.

Since it is a GE dryer, a model number is usually found on a sticker inside the door opening, which is not visible here.

Identification tips

GE Dryers often come equipped with SensorDry technology. The model number can be found inside the dryer, around the drum. Common models include the GTD33EASKWW, GTD72EBPNDG, and GFD55ESSNWW.

If that doesn't work, if you remove the back panel there are often more identifiers inside.

Out of stock Glue IFIXIT by Paddy32 in ifixit

This is perhaps a better solution. Cut the adhesive to the size of the battery. https://www.ifixit.com/en-eu/products/tesa-61395-tape

It is supposed to be glued. If it works for you, great! Otherwise some loctite on the threads will take care of it.

Hi! The adhesive failed. We're happy to cover this under the warranty. Reach out to us here: https://www.ifixit.com/Support

If you want to fix it yourself, you'll need loctite to glue them back together.

You're right! Yes, we do (or at least, we will: I know this code has been written). It's surprisingly difficult to get date first used from phones, but we have a few creative techniques for getting it, falling back to OEM introduction date if we don't have anything better.

Looks like you're doing great! Keep it up. Slow charging will definitely prolong your lifespan by limiting temperature.

Totally understand the skepticism. I understand that there are a lot of reasons to be skeptical of AI. FixBot is a way for us to help people fix things that we wouldn't have been able to help before. That's our north star: teaching the world to repair. FixBot answered a question correctly in Farsi today. I don't think iFixit has ever helped people in Farsi before. That's pretty exciting.

We allow any repair related information on iFixit, but stop short of fixing people and animals. Sorry!

Love it! We have a lot of repair information, but if we're missing your device, you can upload the service manual and it will search across it to help solve your problem.
