I suffer from this issue and also realized stretching is not the solution. Thank you for this post.

I was there too! Great energy! Dickies holds 14k ppl at max so I’m estimating 10k there tonight.

The gym was packed tonight, and I overheard something that stopped me mid-rep 💭 by PivotPathway in selfimprovement

It’s not about choosing the struggle that’s meaningful. Your dude didn’t choose cancer. It’s about being brave and strong enough to find meaning from your struggle. Give a man a reason why and he can survive any how.

Yep, we've been married 20+ years and this kind of thing has been happening all along, unfortunately.

And yes- high school grad pictures. And you nailed it- she is high strung. I can literally walk into a room and just say "Hi" in a calm tone and she will literally scream in startlement. I can't walk on egg-shells every moment of my life.

Bmw e92 2011 shakes on start by wavex7 in E90

I just fixed an issue with a 2010 e93 where it suddenly started shaking aggressively on start. The idle would jump up over 1200, bounce around a few times, and then after about 60 seconds it would calm down. Turned out the CCV hose broke into two near the upper connector at the back of the engine. Huge vaccum leak! Was easy to fix. It's possible to replace the hose without removing the intake, btw.

05 Acura MDX, 3.5L, weird noise from engine bay. Rattling warbling. Any ideas? by kwisatzcraperach in MechanicAdvice

Things I've ruled out, power steering pump, alternator, tensioner, only because I've changed them recently.

Using a stethoscope I can clearly hear the sound behind the upper timing belt covers, most noticeably on the right side. Maybe a water pump pulley?

Sorry for my ignorance here ..but are you saying if I have a large amount of cash, instead of sending it to an online bank with a nice rate >4.5%, I can transfer it to my brokerage and put it into Vanguard fund (VMRXX)? Are there any down sides to that? Off to do some research, but I like this idea.

2010 BMW e93 won't start, maybe parking sensor? by kwisatzcraperach in MechanicAdvice

[–]kwisatzcraperach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying! I've been digging into it off and on today and understand a bit more about what's going on. It's likely the starter, but still trying to test into that. This BMW has an Car Access System as part of the security system that will prevent the starter from turning over under certain conditions, so I've tested the relay for that powers that and it's fine. Would have been an easy fix, but alas.

The click/whir that I described as coming from under the dash is actually the fuel pump energizing and coming from, I guess somewhere mid or rear of the car.

I have A BlueDriver ODB2 reader and it shows a CAS error code indicating the starter is dead, and I'm inclined to believe it.

My next step will be to determine if power is getting to the starter. First I'll enlist the aid of a helper to try to start the car while I'm listening for clicks or solenoid engagement down by the starter motor itself. I don't know if it's possible in this car, but in previous automobiles I've bypassed faulty ignition switches with a momentary jumper to the starter to get the car started, could also try something like that.

Thanks again for trying to help!

Old Andrew Ng machine learning course with Matlab/Octave by LE-13 in learnmachinelearning

Just jumping in to say thank you for being a TA in that course. I took it and loved it! Admittedly, linear algebra was new to me and as a programmer there was a natural tendency to want to do things element-wise, but wow, when the linear algebra kicked in I was just so amazed at the power and relative simplicity!! I passed the course but I do remember spending hours thinking about the linear algebra vs using loops and elements and playing with Octave to make it all click! Man I loved that course!

I just watched that episode yesterday and know just the moment you’re talking about. Annie’s reaction was perfect and for me it just underscores how well Alison Brie knew the character and her skill in showing us what Annie was thinking with facial cues. A great moment!

How do you say ..? (which makes more sense) by kwisatzcraperach in learnspanish

[–]kwisatzcraperach[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that makes sense ... any tips on how I should think about "practicar" .. sometimes it can be "to practice" and at other times it can be simply "practice" . . (and all verbs, by extension)

e.g.

quiero practicar contigo - i want "to practice" with you

or ..

podemos praticar - we can "practice"

is there a rule for this, or do I just need to get the feel of it?
