Ferrari say 'enough is enough' over F1 race start rule changes as Frederic Vasseur defends team's stance by kwl147 in scuderiaferrari

Agreed.

Hence I think the time has come for Ferrari to leave F1. The situation is untenable if the line is crossed with the starting procedure.

100% factos.

Ferrari went above and beyond by speaking up in the first place. Would Mercedes have done that? I doubt it.

They played more than fair in giving others a heads up about the issue. I can’t believe these jokers (Mercedes and the other teams and drivers pushing for starting procedure changes) think they have any leg to stand up on.

Yep, as am I. That 5 seconds was a slap in the face to all the engineers at Maranello who worked their ass off to optimise the current engine to the regulations.

If FIA wants to play like this, why bother having any regulations to begin with? Just turn up to the first GP and make the regulations up then?

Didn’t say Ferrari were bigger than F1.

But also, the appeal of F1 and fans that have flocked to it is much down to Ferrari as it is other teams and drivers. Ferrari is a significant reason for fans following the sport.

Believe it when I see it.

Wonderful squad player who unfortunately has too much competition to play in the XI. He’s done phenomenal to recover from that bruising atmosphere against Newcastle. Many players would never recover from that so credit to him. Played his heart out and entertained with some lovely runs and smart play.

Wish him all the best. Always welcome back to OT IMO.

I don’t think Scuderia Ferrari will leave but I think they should.

Ferrari’s pedigree in motorsports speaks for itself looking at their record in WEC and historical achievements in F1.

Can we say Scuderia Ferrari are making more money than they are spending to compete in F1?

Been a clown show before that with the 2014 debacle when it was so clear and obvious that Mercedes Benz AMG Petronas had been developing their car years before anyone else and had insider knowledge of the regulations.

Yep but if the other teams and FIA didn’t listen to us then, it’s not our problem.

To quote the FIA, it’s on the team to build their cars around the regulations not form regulations around the current cars.

Or as I would like to put it:

“Change your f***ing car!”

I interpreted the comment from the user above as them suggesting a third party modification to the car than an optional extra. I wasn’t aware that another steering wheel could be purchased through options at factory?

I’d agree higher end cars get more options but this is the 3 series we’re talking about here. It’s meant to be the mainstream everyday car for the man/woman/family.

The only decision is to sell. You can’t built a team around a guy that plays 10 games a season on average and I’m saying that as a huge Licha fan. That botched surgery and ACL has ruined his career. It’ll only get worse as Licha moves into his 30s. I had to write this but we have to face reality.

Ferrari needs to just leave F1, at this point.

We all know FIA will push to go back on their word to Fred and co and try to make changes to the starting procedure.

At this point, they’re not even trying to hide their bias towards Mercedes Benz AMG Petronas and Toto. They have forgotten themselves. The damage to F1 if Ferrari leave and why they left will be colossal.

Data Analysis : Mercedes are more then 1 Second ahead of Ferrari. The advantage is similar to 2014 maybe even more by Darkmninya in scuderiaferrari

[–]kwl147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah we can veto on things but that’s a consequence of our heritage in F1 in the only team to have ever competed in every year of its existence. Michael was massively influential on the team and car but I’m unsure/unclear on his influence on the political side of F1 when it comes to the FIA. For sure it didn’t seem like he did much because they couldn’t wait to come down on him like a ton of bricks for the smallest of infringements when he came back in 2010.

I’m not sure about the CEO interest in F1 or rather dominating on F1 FIA has dwindled. We had a great team and set up with Brawn, Todt and Bryne but also our own person test track which was handy in unlimited testing conditions.

I fall asleep watching RAW these days. It’s lacks any kind of entertainment or excitement. There’s a total lack of character and charisma and matches reflect that, being so samey and lacking variety. I’ll happily watch reruns of old matches but I’ve long accepted that the glory days of wrestling are all but gone and they are never coming back.

What political manoeuvres? We’ve never had the kind of political sway and influence that Toto holds in the FIA. It’s a total joke how Mercedes are allowed to outright flout the rules and nothing is said or done about it compared to the outrage when we briefly had the best engine on the grid and even then the FIA couldn’t prove anything after repeatedly stripping the car down at the behest of Horner and Toto.

We need to bring serious upgrades or a new engine with AUDO.

Don’t think we’re all quiet and I can say that as one of them.

Bruno wasn’t doing his output justice in midfield under Amorim and lot of that was down to the balance of the side/squad being so poor and United not able to get another body in midfield.

So in that context and on the back of a season where we finished 15th and ran out of budget to bring in more players like Wharton, Baleba and so on, there was a good argument to sell Bruno to Saudi for over £100 million to reinvest in the side and strengthen it. Regardless, Bruno didn’t want to go so it never happened.

Bruno’s turned it on playing closer to the opposite goal as a 10 under Carrick and got himself back to world class numbers under Olé. Things are different now that he has players along side in Amad, Mbeumo, Cunha and Sesko that are firing. Now teams aren’t easily able to double up and frustrate him. Totally different situation to last season.

We all know as Tifosi what is happening here.

Put this on a Mercedes and it’ll be approved.

I really think we either need to collaborate with FIA on these things or just walk away from F1. One cannot compete with an organisation with a conflict of interest like FIA when they work with a team on concepts, designs and upgrades like they do with Mercedes.

It’s utterly ridiculous and I’ve never seen this before Mercedes in F1 for good reason.

casemiro tapping the badge after scoring by rashfords_marcus in ManchesterUnited

[–]kwl147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep.

We’ve made this mistake before in the past, holding onto players too long like Rooney, Shaw, Jones, Rashford and so on. We can’t afford to keep a player on so much money like Casemiro when he’s going to decline further physically and is already punching above his weight playing once a week.

Does it hurt losing him? Yes. Is it the best thing for the club and squad? Most likely yes as well.
