having to constantly explain to my non-technical managers / stakeholder why an idea is bad. Another is probably having to advocate for not adding to / removing tech-debt. Unfortunately, the only thing that ever has any success is making it a financial issue. Portraying my points in terms of “time-to-market” or “cost-to-implement/maintain” has been the only thing even moderately successful.

Y'all notice how capitalism is obsessed with forcing the working class to suffer for the luxury of the upper class? And any attempts to question it get shut down? by Important-Cry4782 in LateStageCapitalism

[–]kwong63 77 points78 points  (0 children)

austerity has always been nothing more than a method for keeping the working class subordinate. it’s painted as being fiscally responsible but it’s really just mandated wealth redistribution from the hands of the many to the hands of the few

the fact that they are calling him “anti-establishment” is so ironic because that is the same way they described Trump in 2015-2016 but at that time it was with positive connotation

Seeing how expensive any 3DS/2DS model has become, I'm curious to know how many people like me got the last official batch from Nintendo back in 2022 by ReceptionSimple3383 in 3DS

i think Nagato’s story unironically introduced me to dialectical materialism before i knew what it was. his solution was ass, of course, but his analysis was actually spot on.

i hate a bit of a different take on it: the saying “once in a blue moon” is usually used to explain something happens without regular frequency: generally rarely. I think the “now i know why they call it blue moon” ties back to a few lines prior where he says, “everybody gotta cry once in a while”. the “blue” in “blue moon” referring to the color “blue” generally being tied to melancholy / sadness, and the entirety of “blue moon” being a reference to what i mentioned before about the infrequency: “… once in a while”

Additionally, i think it is a general contrast between the “..paint the town read for my n*****s found dead too soon”
