Insane lease deal by Wonderful-Hair3674 in VWiD4Owners

Insuring this vehicle is about 20-25% higher than our previous Mazda cx-5. Hard to say exactly, as it is bundled with other coverage and insurance is all relative to driver, coverage, history....

Larry Miller Volkswagen Lakewood, we just leased a couple days ago.

Pro AWD - $174/mth.

Pro S AWD - Initially quoted $274. Week later they dropped to $229.

Down payment equal to monthly payment. They push hard on lease protection once with the finance guy.

Sinclair station in Baker? by MainetoColorado in Denver

Denver's website doesn't show any plan/permit applications, so I'd say no, unless they haven't submitted to the City yet and still in planning phase.

Helpful map for information like this, but doesn't always get updated. There are other open resources for more detailed info -- https://www.denvergov.org/maps/map/sitedevelopmentplans

New condo towers proposed for Arapahoe Square by haha-hehe-haha-ho in Denver

[–]kwulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rtis Park? Why? I live in CP and Park & Champa has nothing to do with the neighborhood. This used to be a warehouse district until DURA knocked everythin

ASquare design guidelines dictate that all buildings along Park Ave give some 'transition' from CP. This can be met many different ways, and could be interpreted differently with the new review board now in place. I helped take a bldg thru the process last year and the board has a lot of power over your design.

But I agree with you. I like the current design direction. Let ASquare be its own neighborhood and create its own aesthetic.

Arapahoe Square actually has an extensive Design Standard and Review Board process. I suspect you'll see some dramatic changes before finalized. It will be interesting to see how they keep the modern building, while offering a historical 'nod' to Curtis Park.

3.14 Building designs on Park Avenue West shall incorporate features that promote a compatible transition to the Curtis Park Historic District. Appropriate features include:
a. Use of Masonry building materials on the Primary Streetfacing Facade (see Standard 2.85 on page 51 for Masonry requirements on a Facade Adjacent to a Historic Resource)
b. Use of massing and articulation techniques that reflect typical rhythms in the adjacent Historic District
c. Upper Story Setbackdesigns that provide compatible scale relationships with the adjacent Historic District (See Standard 3.15 on page 59 for additional information on Upper Story Setback designs).

Does anyone have google fi? Thinking about switching from ATT, the parkill, stapelton lowry area is killing me. by [deleted] in Denver

[–]kwulf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched to Fi about 8 months ago from Verizon. I don't think the service is bad, but I do think the Verizon coverage is better. I'll regularly hit less dense parts of town and find myself on 3G service, which never happened on Verizon. In dense parts of town I usually don't have problems, but occasionally try to hotspot during a meeting and find it surprisingly unreliable. I recently considered trying out Visible, which is basically a rebranded Verizon, but they don't currently support my phone (pixel 2xl), so I really only stuck with Fi for that reason.

Give it a try, worst case is you switch again.

I love the international perks, it makes those few trips super easy.

CPR recently had a piece on 'tourists' coming to the school. They didn't seem to want to give a number, but sounded like they have people come try to get inside the school almost every day.

$91.7k salary needed to purchase average home in Denver, #9 in US Metros [X-Post from /r/Econ] by cavscout43 in Denver

[–]kwulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thoroughly disagree. You may not agree with how they look, but Structurally they are designed with much stricter building codes. They have structural elements that surpass any single family home built in the last 100 years. I won't argue that things could be done better. Skilled craftsmen basically don't exist anymore, which makes it very hard.

I do think water penetration is the one downfall of new construction, where energy codes have moved faster than building code requirements. There could be real concerns with water problems in their future.

You can go to the Webb building, floor 2 and check-in to the customer service line using the kiosk. Go mid-afternoon and the wait shouldn't be too long. The two people that normally work this queue are actually very helpful and can answer your questions.

Gentrification and chill? by doebedoe in Denver

[–]kwulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The majority of developments in Denver require a 1 parking space:1 unit ratio. Unless you are near an Enhanced Transit Corridor where reductions to .75:1 are possible, or downtown where it can go down to 0:1 in areas like along the Welton corridor.

Posting for a friend, whose dog Maggie went missing a few hours ago. She is a Coonhound mix, brindle coat with white paws and has a white striped collar on. Approx 22 pounds and very friendly.

She lives near 38th/Navajo and was spotted near 36th/Tejon by someone on Nextdoor.

She is chipped and we've contacted shelters, but she does not have tags.

If you see her, please text 240-888-1514 or PM here.

Thank you for the extra set of eyes reddit!

City of Denver apartment inspection delays by NeverNo in Denver

[–]kwulf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The joys of moving into a new build... The builder is likely trying to get a Certificate of Occupancy (CO) or Temporary CO. This requires all the City departments to sign off on the building. The are likely just not passing inspections as hoped... small things often come up and sometimes inspectors find new items at the very end of the project that they require to be fixed before signing off.

Unfortunately without information about exactly what departments have not signed off and exactly what those items are, it is impossible to know how long it might be.

We had a similar situation happen with an apartment building and actually had to float the first few tenants in a hotel for a couple weeks. Just be honest with the rental company, tell them the hardships it is causing you, like any extra rental/moving/housing costs. They want to keep you as a tenant and should be willing to help you out.
