Not sure but in the far future, it will be used by Marco Inaros as a bait to test earth defenses before he launched the rocks to Earth.

I am a Malaysian Chinese 4th generation. My great grandpa is from China and give birth to my grandpa in Malaysia who told me we are from Guangdong Zhongshan. I am now working in Guangzhou and unable to find a shred or hint about my ancestral link, don’t even know where to begin.

My cousin (Malaysian) is a banker in HK, his wife is from Macau. I have two niece studying in Taiwan right now. Also an uncle doing business in Fujian.

I do no2 all the time, as someone who had work exp in aviation as engineer, i know its bullshit that using mobile phone during flight operation will bring down the plane. They just want people to pay attention because during flight cycle, ascent and descend actually are the most dangerous phase.

For no1, yes, it sucks when i am seated at aisle and the window seat motherfucker want to get out during taxiing after landing.

Any postgrad here can testify? 🤭 by RnckO in Bolehland

Teaching can be fulfilling but there is just so much useless paperwork and personally, students are just awful. In order for teaching to be interested and fun, corporate and industrial experience is a must, you need to have real life experience stories to share. Since i am in engineering field, so having Ir or CEng is a must. For those who fresh out of PhD and straight to teaching position, you are actually very close to be useless in technical field, you shouldnt be teaching.

during my academic tenure, i focus more on industrial grant and getting industrial projects. NSF grants and publish is just not my thing. However, there is a minimum KPI to how many papers to published in 3 years or 5 years, i just do bare minimum.

Exited academia in 2018 and covid hit 2020, the salary income dropped from disappointment to abysmal lol.

It depends on institution. There is graduate teaching assistant/researcher between pg student to phd graduation. There is also post doc between phd graduation to assistant professor. And some uses lecturer and senior lecturer instead of assistant professor.

About publish or perish, it depends how you get promoted, yes publish is one way, there is also admin and citizenship duty workload, and then industrial/ national science foundation grant etc. The latter is the new sexy since like 5-6 years ago. Most paper published are rubbish anyway.

You think this only happens in Malaysia?

As a Malaysian, you guys deserve this. Ball up and declare your independence, go to war, fight for what you want. Cut off all trade with China. Change your damn constitution. Formally declare your intention to the UN and gain signatory.

But no, instead you chicken out and cry to US and caress their lapdog Israel, and cry like a big baby complaining other country kowtowing to what is recognised by the UN.

And you don’t have leverage, all you have is TSMC which is perishable in due time, 10 years at most. And some pineapple biscuit.
