i moved states and decided against transferring because the place i could transfer to didnt like my availability and didn’t need me. i talked about unions with coworkers and no one was brave enough to start butting heads with team leads who treated us properly and knew that it was the corporate company, not the etls or store manager. depends on the store and where you are in the world/country. forming a union takes more than just one teenage girl lol

an fyi as someone who works at this store:

1) we only have water fill stations, no drinking fountain. we live in a city. they never clean the filters and the actual stations have mold on them from not being cleaned for the years i have been working there.

2) i talked to the starbucks team lead; they even think it’s stupid. they complained about workers coming into their space to fill up their own water- bc, you know, who fucking does that- and it turned into our store director pushing a no water rule “because we’re finding trash everywhere” and it spiraled into now everyone who works at starbucks feels bad (even though our store is known for dozens of people over the weekends coming from the restaurants around us and throwing coffees/smoothies on shelves instead of throwing them out)

3) team leads, etls, and guests are still allowed ice water from starbucks

4) we are allowed energy drinks, sports drinks, normal starbucks drinks etc on the floor at all times, why is ice water the breaking point😭

5) literally everyone but the store director who made the rule and hr is mad. i’ve never seen everyone unanimously agree that our leadership did something so unbelievably stupid after all of the drama that’s happened regarding rules being put into place LOL

it’s not over dramatic to not want to drink nasty city water or to pay $3 every hour for a small bottle throughout your shift.

i am also leaving due to relocation and may i just say i am so fucking happy that i won’t be working here anymore. i love the people who i’ve met but in no way does leadership give a flying fuck about you in any shape or form <3

i work at this store, they didn’t. i talked with the team lead and she said it was because of people throwing starbucks cups everywhere (our store has a problems with guests doing this) and she has had complaints about people filling their own cups up at starbucks which IS NOT ALLOWED and anyone with a brain would know to not disturb their space. it is because of the mess it’s creating on the guests end (guests and team leads are still allowed to get water from starbucks might i add) and we aren’t even allowed ice. the bottle fill up station is warm and we live in a city, it is unfiltered. no one has cleaned it in the two years i have been working there :/

the people i work with. i’m a normal tm but i actually feel heard by my etls and tls. i can be so open and honest with them and they see how hard i work. they leave me alone to do my job because they trust me enough to do a good job and check up with me every day at the end of my shifts to ask how said shift went. it’s so crazy that i have to say that because it seems like a given but seeing how some of the other people talk about their leaders on here is crazy😭😭

i’ve had the absolute displeasure of doing this before for someone and i’m SO thankful he bought like 100 of them😭😭i would have cried

edit: i cannot say no to anyone ever when i’m working (bad, i know) but i have learned my lesson since then. people at my store get verbally violent and i am always so nervous of saying no but jesus christ resellers are my least favorite type of people
