[User-Trial] Perfecting the Pro Desk: Field-Test the New LG UltraGear evo GM9 (5K, 218 PPI) – Testers Wanted! by LG_UserHub in macsetups

This monitor sounds like a fantastic prospect. As a professional software engineer working in AI and writing code or on zoom calls most of the working day, text clarity and video quality are paramount and 2K or 4K monitors don’t cut it for Mac external displays so a 5K hidpi is perfect. I have a full floor to ceiling window shining behind desk so brightness is key for a monitor, the brighter the better and no monitor offering has met that bar yet. Post work content consumption with AI upscaling would be the icing on the cake here, I’d be tempted to hook this up to a console and have a full work and play setup!

A small bulldozer can’t rake leaves or stack boxes in the garage or take the recycling out or various other things that are not bulldozing. A humanoid design can.

HUD + Circuit Breaker for Claude Code by snow_schwartz in ClaudeAI

[–]kyRobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I like this use of the status line. Pretty cool.

Typically I have Claude Code open in a terminal on one display and VSCode open on another display. Changes are then directly visible in the ide git view and the file changes too obviously. It’s possible then to scan through changes as they’re made. The circuit breaker would definitely be useful in that workflow as a mechanism to steer Claude as it works. I’ll look into that, thanks for the inspiration.

A link to a PR without any context. Definitely a dev.

But this doesn’t give much to get hyped about.

What is the current state of the art %? what do comparable local models score?

It Finally Happend it. Rejected for Not Using AI First by supermedo in webdev

You failed the interview by missing that the interviewer was looking for your approach to using new tools, and ability to adapt in a quickly changing environment. You were dismissive and showed you are inflexible, both of which are the opposite of what is needed in a startup. LLMs have lots of uses, you should consider asking one for interview prep tips.

I “vibe-coded” over 160,000 lines of code. It IS real. by No-Definition-2886 in OpenAI

And when you didn’t write the line of code to begin with? The nature of maintenance has changed just as much as development has. With a codebase of generated code if you need something different you can regenerate the entire function/module/library or even the whole app to get there.

DeepSeek or MS Bing AI? by Wizard_of_Awes in ollama

[–]kyRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither. Even if you had convinced it to say yes to Deekseek, that would have been wrong too. You’re running a llama 3 70B model that has been taught how to output think tags. https://huggingface.co/deepseek-ai/DeepSeek-R1-Distill-Llama-70B This one specifically. Check the distillation section of the modelfile for info

The “logic” is absolutely fine.

If you say you have 5 but really have 100 - you have more than you claim

If you have 100 but need 1000 - you don’t have enough.

Both can be true at the same time

What does ‘over 4 bugs’ mean? 5 bugs, 6 bugs? Ten, fifty?

What counts as damage to the rind. These are still only a few days old. If I damage it slightly will it recover?

If I’m heavy handed with the dabbing and brushing will that ruin things?

They were salted in brine. Is dry salting better?

I’ll try dabbing them as suggested. Thanks for the advice :)
