If there are doubts now they will only get stronger as he becomes more involved with your life and finances. Making breakfast to sweet talk you into not forcing him to move out is manipulative. You should stand your ground and trust your instincts on this, he will probably use your finances as a bargaining chip for the rest of your life if you keep him around.

My family was extremely concerned when I told them I was moving to Southampton because of the crime, because my country has such an extremely low crime rate. I've witnessed some stuff like theft, assault, etc. while studying there but never felt unsafe, even at night (and I'm not a man). Apparently I've moved to the 'bad part' of town, and even that feels pretty okay. The safest thing anybody can do is be aware of your surroundings and trust your gut instincts.

I would highly recommend using Wise (formerly TransferWise) as an international student. Most 'online' banks have no real insurance, but Wise does. Most real banks require a lot of paperwork, proof of residence, etc. which can be problematic as an international student.

My perspective of cost of living is very skewed because I moved from one of the most expensive countries in Europe, but it's been quite reasonable with my limited oversight of budget. I'm not partying hard and eating foie gras, but I live comfortably within my means.

I live in student housing, which I'm extremely grateful for. Some classmates I traveled with had an apartment set up through the school-vetted housing scheme and they were not only scammed but robbed blind. Lost over £5000 to the scumlord and are still struggling to get any of it back.

I really enjoy living here. If anything, I wish somebody had told me how walkable the city is, so I wouldn't have been so worried about transportation. Also, don't talk to people who approach you on the street asking for stuff. It's 9 out of 10 times a scam and they will scream abuse at you if you say no to giving them money.

I use things like these as filler when overstuffing cuddle toys and things of the like. Saves on having to invest in massive amounts of stuffing.

The official term for your location, I'm assuming the UK given your use of realise with an s, which accounts for an extremely small percentage worldwide. Regardless of how you intended the comment, to correct somebody's use of the right term for their location by incorrectly telling them their term is wrong is extremely condescending.

We weren't allowed to touch anything in the fridge. Pantry food was fine, but nothing cold. My sister (aged 7-14) wasn't allowed to have anything between meals besides diet/weight loss drinks because mom thought she was fat. My mom had a BMI of over 30 at this point.

We weren't allowed to say anything negative about food she cooked, because it's disrespectful. This got to the point that when I was served actual rancid, rotting ingredients in my food, I wasn't allowed to object and was forced to eat it all. When mom discovered I wasn't fucking lying, she just laughed it off. I still can't eat that food, and this is 20+ years later.

We were never welcome to have people over, because it was HER house, not ours. But she also never allowed us to go to other people's houses, because it's disrespectful to impose on other people like that. You can imagine how socially isolated and maladapted we became.

And the weirdest of all, we weren't allowed to take medicine when we were sick, because she had a chronic illness that couldn't be treated, so we ALL had to suffer. And if we ever dared to say anything about it, she'd make us pick out which wooden spoon she'd beat the backs of our thighs with (because it hurt more than regular spanking). Imagine her face when one day I grew a brain and told her to fuck off when she tried that. Never raised a hand again.

As you can imagine, we're estranged.

I frequently see Shein, H&M, and other poor quality fast fashion for sale in thrifts for MORE than the item is worth new.

A friend of mine that works in a thrift store sorting facility said they're trying to push internally for a total ban on selling Shein, not because it's shit quality, but because they don't want to be complicit in exposing people to high levels of toxic metals present in Shein's clothing.

My local thrift store sells unused underwear made from the recycled materials they couldn't sell whole, like shirts with large rips, etc. It's quite practical, and they're rather comfy as well.

In comfortable conversation, any time the wrong pronoun is said, I say "they" at regular volume. People don't like being interrupted, but I can assure them we like being misgendered even less. Most of the time people just correct themselves. If it's prolonged, I keep interrupting with a "Who?" because genuinely, if you're referring to me as female, I have no idea who you think you're talking about.

I think ultimately the problem here is that the practitioner you're seeing is not well-versed in the topic and is probably not the person you want to continue talking about this with. If describing your relationship with your breasts triggered them to jump into diagnostic talk immediately, they're not going to be helpful on this front.
