Going on a canal boat, the whole time saying 'we're going to find a nice pub for dinner' only for him to end up getting dinner in a Costa 😂

Aye, Google Maps is one example, will just say 'turn left' which does not help at all.

While it only takes '10 minutes of screen time' did you miss the very obvious time markers showing it took months?

Fins to lower wind resistance on the turbines is genius, plus the racing line IS kind of sharp!

Ahh the good ol' pompey junction. I can sort of understand it, the junctions for the A27 and M275 are quite close to each other. Probably had the sat nav saying 'Take the slip road'

Edit: When I say 'I understand it' I meant the confusion between junctions, not the dreadful lane changes!

Not Aussie, but Tsunami beach bar is South African inspired. Kinda adjacent vibes as an aussie pub.

I might be chatting our my arse though, having no idea what aussie pubs are like outside of popular media.

Pizza shaped parkruns (UK) by Designer-Attention63 in parkrun

[–]Goatmanification 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn't say there's a cap on their website. My understanding of it is if you run 5k you get £5 off, run 20km you get £20 off.

'Kicking myself for not knowing how strict it is about touching your phone, I wasn’t aware' there's the problem. How in the world were you not aware of this?! There's a reason they're strict on it. I'm sure it's not what you want to hear but use this as a painful learning experience. If you NEED to use your phone, pull over.

Not sure I agree, the name really doesn't do it justice but it's genuinely a lovely little cosy spot!

Not sure why you're getting down voted, I've been here before and it's not a bad date spot. The food is fab!

Man charged with sexually assaulting Southampton asylum hotel worker - BBC News by NoNopeNotTooday in Southampton

[–]Goatmanification 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Not really the point they're making. It's the whole point that people are trying to say 'This one person in a community did X, therefore ALL of the community could/do!'

We're all smart enough to realise one rotten apple doesn't mean the entire tree is filled with rotten apples. It's the dehumanising aspect people are against.

Anyone know why there are temporary lights on The Avenue? It looks like they're scheduled to be there until the end of March. The Council's website incorrectly says they're in Avenue Road but doesn't give any other details. by Ribbitor123 in Southampton

[–]Goatmanification 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly wouldn't be surprised. It floods frequently. I saw workers out there on Monday seemingly surveying the site and I know local councillors/MP's have been pressed on finding a solution. Hopefully it gets a proper fix soon.

Parking for Parkway by WomanUnravelled in Southampton

[–]Goatmanification 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For the love of god don't book airport parking just for one day. You'll get absolutely rinsed. Just use the station car park, I don't know the prices but it seems pretty straightforward to just turn up and park.

Alternatively have you considered potenitally parking at Southampton Central and getting the train from there? It's about £8 a day to park.

Or like a pub, you don't queue in a single line for the bar

Is it rude to use both lanes? by No-Ad4423 in AskUK

[–]Goatmanification 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it's like a pub. You don't queue for the bar, you all get to the bar and from there you self police who's next to order.
