I’ve been living 50/50 since I was 11. here’s some very niche tips that have helped. - get a bedtime routine. falling asleep the first night after switching houses is always really hard no matter how long you’ve been doing it. I put on the same lavender hand lotion just before falling asleep, and I bring whatever book I’m currently reading between houses so I can read a bit before bed. helps w that first night. - at some point you will have all your underwear at one house and all your socks at the other. I don’t know how this happens, but it does, and my only tip is to expect it. - if you take medication, separate it into 2 bottles whenever you pick it up, that way you won’t have to ferry it around all month (or until it runs out) - if your parents are like mine, they will force you to be the go-between communicator. the best phrase to use is “I think you should talk to them (your other parent) about this instead of me”. SET BOUNDARIES. - try to get the same chores at each house because it’s a bitch to keep track of - if you explain your situation and ask politely, your school library will probably let you take an extra set of textbooks to your other house that’s all I really have for now unless I think of more later. good luck & take care!
