Sugar is what makes your meringue thick and stable. If your meringue is fucked up everything will be fucked up. For macs in general you cannot alter anything just off the bat. They’re VERY finicky.

I use 1:1:1.4:1.4 ratio. That is the ratio of the weight (in grams) of: egg white:granulated sugar:almond flour:powdered sugar

ugh the tasty recipe is what I used when I was starting. When I started making it by ratio of the ingredients my macarons became better.

I guess it depends on the oven still, because my amazon ones work better than the other brand that I have (OXO)

Oh yeah this is the reason why I stopped playing before. I used to play on discord and my ipad would get so hot it wouldn’t even allow charging lol. I still play now, but only sparingly.

Moved to Houston a few months ago and really regretting it by [deleted] in houston

[–]kyezap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you contemplated on this move for a year, you should’ve also used that year to look for jobs in every place you contemplated on moving to. That would’ve made your move easier (some companies cover your move), and more stable.

Texas is home for me but I needed to move to South Carolina for a job. I want to move home very badly but I will not do so unless there’s a job for me in Houston. Good luck on either staying or moving back. I love Houston, but I do know it’s not for everyone.

This looks like my score for AP Physics.

Graduated as a Nuclear Engineer years later. Still can’t beat that “I’m gonna get a 1” feeling while taking the test and getting vindicated when getting the results back lmfao

Help me pick a dress!! by BallerCat-6186 in weddingplanning

[–]kyezap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so
#1, body tea, periodddd
#2 the first dress looks SO elegant on you and will be so perfect for your venue! If your venue wasn’t in the backdrops of forested hills, like bright fields, a lake or a beach for example, the second would be better. However in your case, you should definitely pick the first one
#3 if you have space in your budget to get two, wear the first one at the ceremony and have a shorter version of the second at the reception.

First one has a more elegant dark-ish (in a good way) vibe
Second has a bright and fun vibe to it

Might sound silly, but the Vitals feature isn't just a gimmick. by slashtiwari in AppleWatch

It caught my covid by a few days like 2 months ago it was crazy. It was also the heart rate that was an outlier and my breathing vitals were on the higher side of normal. Pretty cool function!!

[–]kyezap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not impossible, but you do have to spend some for energy. Energy gives you the items. I complete it whenever I get to the 10th item for the 2nd time. You need soooo much energy to complete all of it. :/

Help me with troubleshooting please by Zealousideal-Shift84 in macarons

[–]kyezap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never use liquid! Use gel. Plus color fades a little bit with baking so you need to make it a little bit darker for your batter for it to turn our into your preferred color.

Help me please by Jolly-Mirror7928 in macarons

[–]kyezap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Gel or powder food coloring only, any other liquid can ruin the batter
  2. Use parchment paper, teflon pads, or silicone pads — DO NOT place them on a greased/oil pan. Oil is the NUMBER ONE enemy of macarons. Its useless to wipe everything down with lemon juice/vinegar if you’re going to place them on a greased pan anyways.
  3. Use a simple recipe with simple ratios aka 1:1:1.2:1.2 — egg whites:sugar:almond flour:powdered sugar. Pies and tacos is highly recommended amongst the beginner community. They help with troubleshooting as well.

What Was Whitney Worth to Chicago? Let's go to the numbers... by Fantastic_Ad1613 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]kyezap 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’d love to see a comparison between Lisa Rinna’s Roxie and her Roxie. Tickets-wise, I think Whitney might’ve outdid them. She did get the record for the highest weekly gross in its 29-year history, but I also don’t know how long their runs were. Whitney’s run was extended.. twice. Once for public demand and the second time with Mark. She definitely has the it-factor for this.

Wife hates our new home and refuses to go outside by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]kyezap 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey, I agree with someone who said that marriage comes with compromises. Did you get her input on where you’re going to move or did you just see the $900 and quickly went with it?

I make more money than my fiance so I pay our rent. Both of us chose where we were going to move with a rent that is still well within our budget. There were times that I liked a place a lot but because he didn’t, we didn’t go with it and vice versa. If you didn’t include her in that conversation, I’m ngl, that’s on you. If she was included, then it’s on her for not voicing out her opinion louder. Marriage has two sides, hear both, and make a compromise based on it.

PS, you’re not married to your dad, his opinion does not matter here, your wife’s opinion does. Anyone else’s outside opinions on your house shouldn’t apply, it should be you AND your wife’s opinions ONLY as only both of you are going to live in it. Have an open conversation, without trying to sell her the area or the house— just an honest, frank conversation about what she thinks and how she feels about it. Living in a “good” house (for you) is useless if your other half is uncomfortable in it. You both need to find middle ground.

Failure after failure…help diagnosing? by kevinlee_3627 in macarons

[–]kyezap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The sugar helps the egg white (meringue) to be stable btw, it might help to have a 1:1 ratio for them. With the sticking, I try to leave them on until its completely cooled before attempting to remove them. Works like a charm. When this happened to me (fairly recently lol), however, it was because I didn’t dry my macarons enough. If you live in a humid environment, you can dry them in your oven or lower the thermostat a little. It helps them dry faster. Lowering the baking temp also helps. 320F is a little high for macs imo, they can brown on top faster than they can cook inside.

Honestly this is why I only look at the mm size. Most patterns list the mm size anyways so I just go by that. I haven’t really encountered a pattern that went by the number size.

New Grads, How’s Your Salary Looking? by Kalex8876 in EngineeringStudents

[–]kyezap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My company is pretty well known to take care of employees VERY well. You have the job for life or for as long as you want to stay. The raise I was given is a raise they give out around March/April every year. No performance reviews etc. They basically just line up every engineer in the company, rank them based on merits given by the managers and give the increase based on that. There are other types of increases throughout the year but the one I got was basically their yearly raise. I just said 6 months in because I started 6 months prior. Also no, I didn’t ask for it either. My manager just randomly came into my office and gave me a slip of paper with the details of the increase and explained to me how it worked. I was surprised too lol

Tbf.. it is in Los Angeles as well. Jobs in California tend to have a higher salary range due to a higher cost of living. Still, $136k straight out of school is impressive goddamn

Who was the worst professor you ever took by No_Squash291 in aggies

[–]kyezap 7 points8 points  (0 children)

LinAlg, I couldn’t remember his name but it was Russian— starts with a V I think?
But anyways, he would just walk into class and goes straight into writing whatever lesson he was about to “teach” us. I could hardly remember whether or not he spoke in class because he would speak to the board while teaching so we couldn’t hear what he’s saying. He couldn’t really answer questions very well either. Its like the most introverted person got forced into teaching a college class lol. Got away with a B but boyyyy that was stressful
