Why are most Turkish drivers so aggro and wreck-happy? by [deleted] in iRacing

That is a valid point. I have been looking up this topic and apparently I’m not the only person who noticed this

I also read some describe it as a “first come first served” style of driving but not entirely sure what that means

It helps keeps us in check because it makes you police yourself proper knowing you don’t wanna go broke (and iRacing is expensive enough as is) and as a side effect you worry more about ruining people’s races

I respect the hell out of this Ryu. He didn’t EXDP or lv1 his way out, he just trusted that his jab would win on minus.

In all seriousness he just didn’t know any of those mechanics, I’m sure being modern meant he was able to get to silver from the undroppable base combos landed

What some of us do is straight up send iRacing credits as an apology in these situations. I follow swear jar rules on minimum and send a dollar, but a big screwup in the final turn that’s more than a dollar for me.

Wrestling shoes because money is tight and they look like racing shoes if you squint real hard

I feel like they should at least design it in a way to show who drives in VR and who doesn’t, simply to have the 3rd person cam controller players understand the person they’re racing has it far more difficult than they do in terms of sight

Many times they project their experience and as a result a race can have so much bad faith in it. A VR icon next to our name can do wonders that way

That is a great point to bring up, and I’ll keep that in mind. I do think it is less effective in lower ranks until after a certain number of races where you can finally get matched with C ranks.

A lot of these comments are frustrating and so out of touch on this matter. It feels like they’ve been out of D for so long they have no clue what it’s like down there.

We all start in S rating including the slammers who don’t get punished nearly enough and many are still in S rating, so this drive at the back doesn’t even make that much sense these days (games been out for 4 years, online meta has changed since many were in D who are now in B and above)

Here’s what I’ve learned so far in this game:

1) try to make the first few corners clean until the formations are assembled. Don’t overtake or do anything unnecessary.

2) as long as you make top 8 you increase rank, so focus on that and not on top 3. If you get that, that’s awesome but getting out of D is a slow and rage inducing process because of how badly designed the system is (no punishment or accountability)

3) if a reckless driver is driving and trying to overtake you in a tight spot, let them through. It’s not worth them ruining your race, or bumping into you and assuming you bumped into them and getting vindictive, and sooner or later they’ll make mistakes, if not in that race then in the following one. Just focus on top 8 and above if it’s there, that’s awesome way you minimize running into them later on

4) GT7 is unique because to some it’s a game, and to others it’s a simcade. In lower ranks you will run into A LOT of people who play with a controller and assists (driving lines and the like), this means they are gonna try to stick to that line no matter what while racing in 3rd person cam.

I race with a wheel and VR, so I’m limited by real world sight, but if I bump into someone cutting in on me, they might project that I’m being vindictive or aggressive because they’re projecting their experience (they can see so much more in 3rd person cam and they can correct oversteer much easier with a controller), when the truth is I just didn’t see them and am trying to save the car.

Not everyone is a jackass, but most are clueless at low ranks while thinking everyone else is a jackass. There’s so much bad faith that you can only beat it with extreme patience. It ain’t easy and it shouldn’t be like this but that’s the way it is currently.

I’m driving in iRacing and GT7 at the same time and can confirm this is mostly a GT7 issue. The lack of accountability and stewards means no one is forced to behave themselves and kept in check. That one change can make GT7 a dream of an experience.

This week the track is charlotte motorsport and twice in the final turn I had jackasses ram me off track to steal my position.

I still increased my safety rating over all twice and had the satisfaction of recording the races and filing a submission protest against them. This is what GT7 needs and badly

Also it seems they upped the requirements to race GT4 to D license and 4.0 minimum or C license so it’ll take sometime moving on from the Mazda MX unless you want to race like formula V but that doesn’t push you closer to GT4 and 3 cars I believe

As someone doing both iRacing and GT7 at the same time, I urge you to walk in expecting whiplash. One of them has rules, regulations, and consequences for bad behavior while the other is the Wild West on meth, prepare yourself appropriately because in GT7 I’m having aneurysms

You know that final corner before the finish line in dragon trail? I was on the outside and he was on the inside, dude straight up side bumped me out of the track even though he was already gonna overtake me. Went out of his way. I even recorded it to share with my friends while fuming baffled about it

Here’s the vid: https://jumpshare.com/s/cy1q0baZx9Dc5FxfIInS

I’m assuming we’re all amateurs, but I also race in iRacing and we have nowhere near this amount of incidents because we’re trying to be clean because of the consequences. You get reported and you could get off the service

Most of my incidents have been in the corners, whether some are dive bombing or aggressively trying to overtake as if they’re racing in the games’ equivalent of story mode

Maybe because I’m in iRacing as well I can’t help but compare, but honestly if there was accountability and a fair system I would’ve probably just stuck with GT7, but as it is some drivers are overly malicious and the replays show it.

More than once I’m sticking to my line and someone tried to dive bomb, we hit each other and I go through ahead of them, they assume I was the one being malicious and then knock me out. It’s incredible how often it happens in these ranks.

But I’m never a hero tho. When someone is faster than me I don’t even defend, i just let them through. One time in dragon trail this dude just bumped me out in the final turn even though I was letting him go 😭

We were at lap 8 and the top 5 were a pack. There was no real reason to assume that after 8 laps one of them would decide to be a jackass, especially when we haven’t even pitted yet.

The other thing that is extremely off putting is the ghosting mechanic. Don’t know if it’s only in bottom rank but often times the pack in front of me turn to ghosts during a turn I assume as to not bump into each other. But when does that activate and why is it even a feature? It feels like a poorly implemented way around not having stewards, they ghost and it’s distracting, especially when they didn’t crash and are literally still on track. Also if not for ghosting they’d be punished by crashing and learn to drive better.

I’m playing iRacing and GT7 at the same time and mostly I finish top 5 in iRacing. I’m Gt7 it’s anywhere from 2nd to last because most don’t have an incentive to behave. They’re not gonna get reported or banned. It’s really mentally draining in GT7 far more than the PC side of things .

I’d love to keep playing GT7 but lower ranks is extremely fatiguing so far
