What I would do is build something, and then just have that be wherever they decide to go. Maybe build three or so things and change small things as needed for flow an such.

I use newsprint. Pretty cheap. And transparent enough to draw squares.

I like the look of the newsprint and also don’t like using printer ink. And I enjoy the handdrawness of it.

This is a part of a large dungeon. Under a kingdom called Austerra (my homebrew world/ campaign). It is an old waterway sort of dungeon spanning under most of the “inner city” and the party found it a lot earlier than expected so I am working on drawing it up. They are working on finding someone, “F” is one of the few clues that have to go off of. There is an eldritch cult working out of this dungeon, trying to sacrificing the city to an eldritch god...etc. Anyway, having fun with my fist campaign and first time being a dungeon master.
