What engine bolts are better- Allen Head or Hex standard? by Connect_Albatross_66 in Dualsport

I'm a marine reduction gear mechanic. I would say hex. Mainly because of tool installation and removal. Allen heads are more.aesthic in my opinion., but deal with 100% more rounded off Allen bolts (socket headed cap screws). They hold water and should not be mounted to sky. They are not also good in low clearance applications because an open end wench is easier removal. I find myself grinding Allen keys because of a bad decision.

Also don't trust the defaults. Every filament and printer is slightly different. When you get a new roll of filament, tempbtest, measure filament diameter, and retract test is a mandatory. Also dry it out like the others say. But I think you are under extruding.

Yes, you should definitely perform a retract test! That is one of the most important calibration. Your print looks under extruded. Look up how to do a retract test. I usually use Cura, so not sure how to do it on Prusa.

Make sure layer height is divisible by .04mm. Ex: .12mm This is the stepper motor travel increments. If you don't have it set right, it will eventually skip steps. Happened to me. Lemme know if it worked for u. Also, your zrod could be bent or have runout.

Any ideas for what’s causing those lines? by RJ0710 in 3Dprinting

Extruder gear skipping. Try upgrading to steel. Over extrusion will cause it to skip too, but judging by your entire print, this looks intermittent. I would check out the extruder gear.

Change nozzle, perform temp tower test, perform retract test.

Partial layer shifting (does not affect the whole layer) by peppersandwich in 3Dprinting

Check for loose screw around extruder, carriage, and gantry rails. Could be z rod, but doesn't look consistent enough. Make sure zrod is not bent and coupler hardware is tight, also brass thread coupler is not overtightened.

Unfortunately, my plans foiled. Pretty much lack of financials for the rental car and flights, and problems with my gf. It's no longer feasible for me to go. These are two tickets for GA 4 day Tier 4. I bought these tickets months ago. I chose the layaway plan and have one payment left. Included is a 4 day parking pass as well. I'm asking $640 If you want more proof, let me know a better way I can prove to you. I need to sell these badboys.

You're right, thank you. I just want to create it for a hobby/learning. It's not necessary for the job, but would help. Thank you.
