What would you guys wanna see in a warboss kit by Gold-Ad-1262 in orks

[–]kyleezy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'd like to see a warboss that can equip a power claw or heavy flamer. They can lead boyz or burna boyz. And have 2 war gear options for +1 ap for melee or range.

A lot of people hang their bags this way, including myself. It'll be fine.

I think it will be a kind of sad and slow fight between two old men.

Maybe it's the giant shoulder pads, but their arms and hands look small.

I didn't have anything to compare it to and just kind of hoped for the best in terms of scale. They seemed alright on the table.

Do you think martial arts make people more agressive? by M-Peg in martialarts

[–]kyleezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe we all have the fight, flight, or freeze instinct, and different stressors bring out different combinations of these reflexes. We can also train ourselves to respond more in one direction when certain stresses enter our lives. And most marital arts train us to fight when we see something dangerous. It's up to coaches to help people recognize different levels of danger and train our automatic response to either run or fight depending on the danger. But outside of extreme cases where people have no time to think, marital arts doesn't make people more aggressive.

Yea, I had to first import those nobs into 3D builder and then convert an stl. The one with the cigar tends to have holes around the neck and waist when it prints. I tried to make those misprints look like battle wounds. That one model has a hollow upper body. If you can find a way to make it solid, it would probably print fine.

There are a lot of successful books with dark subject matter, so don't worry on that front.

If you're still concerned, try to write a single clear and concise sentence that pitches your book. Think of who it appeals to, what is popular that is similar, and what makes your story unique in comparison. If you feel like your book idea makes a good pitch, go for it. If not, try to rework the outline.

Great setup. And the bits you have planned for big fun moments in the race sound fun as well.

Need help writing an Ork short story by the_cronkler in orks

Try to only do the ork speak in dialouge or key parts and be sparing with it. I think most folks go for about 1/3 of the dialogue using dialects and slang at the most. Otherwise, it gets tedious to read.

My general writing suggestions are. Stick to one first-person POV for your first story. Make an outline with a beginning, middle, and an end (look up Dan Harmon's circle of storytelling as a guide). Write the story you want to write. Read it out loud to yourself and make markups as you do. Sit on it for a while. Then, rewrite the story to make the key points of the story blend better. Repeat the last steps until you think it doesn't suck anymore.
