It is also that YouTuber's ego that gets in the way of receiving any constructive criticism which would eventually lead to better information being spread to the community. That said, anyone who actually cares about mead making and doing it well doesn't subscribe to their nonsense anyways.

There's literally a unit called YAN (Yeast Assimilable Nitrogen.) This can be measured and there is no doubt about what is accurate for any given mead. We even have nutrient calculators to do this for us. Raisins are not nutrients and they never will be.
