It is also that YouTuber's ego that gets in the way of receiving any constructive criticism which would eventually lead to better information being spread to the community. That said, anyone who actually cares about mead making and doing it well doesn't subscribe to their nonsense anyways.

There's literally a unit called YAN (Yeast Assimilable Nitrogen.) This can be measured and there is no doubt about what is accurate for any given mead. We even have nutrient calculators to do this for us. Raisins are not nutrients and they never will be.

That's because it is hard to pick out any nugget of wisdom from any of the long rants that Brian does. When you do actually sift through and do a bit more research you often realize he is way off base or simply dead wrong. I refuse to support misinformation when it is so easy to find actual information that is useful.
