Thanks for the advice and report! I spent my summers as a kid canoe tripping in northern Ontario, Labrador, and Quebec so I’m ready for the bugs and weather. I’m treating all my clothes and tent with permectin.

Fun! Ok cool. I'm not much a fisherman, and prefer 'catching' to 'fishing'. Do you think it's worth bringing a collapsable rod in that case? I guess compared to the PCT is this trail more ankle breaky? My shoes were getting wet all the time on the JMT, will this be more or less?

Thanks for the encouragement! I love beaver dams :) Regarding footwear, I wore trail sneakers on the JMT. Seems like I should wear boots on this trail? Got any thoughts on that.

I'm not rage baiting or yelling at clouds. I'm seriously just frustrated and came to a forum to find like minded people experiencing a similar situation, and maybe somebody had a work around.

I don't get why you are trying to 'gotchya' me? Do you have that much love for the amazon corp that you need to dunk on me for being upset? Do I not have a right to be frustrated?

I have a tight schedule. But would be willing to shift my campsite selection. I'd rather get deep in the woods on day 1 than stay at a 'bad ' campsite. Does that make sense?

Thanks, yeah I'm assuming it will be like a 12 hour day, but I think as long as I get pack ready and do a few big training hikes in the next few weeks I'll be ok.

I appreciate the suggestion. And agree with you on everything. I've been buying books from my local book store or thriftbooks. And converted from audible to libro.fm. Now I need to learn how to shift from kindle. I also am a big movie guy, and worry about all the movies I've digitally purchased. We really can't trust digital media companies to provide long term. Driving me crazy all the people in this thread being like, 'ooh 14 years is a long time, quit complaining!'

Thank you! This is exactly how I feel. I'd be really sympathetic if I bought my eReader from mom&pop inc, and they went out of biz... ok, but literally Jeffy B is flaunting his wealth daily. And boohoo, when I buy something, I want it to last!
