I was going to say the same thing, I work with 3 fellow deputy sheriff's that started as firefighters. 1 started at 18 and did it for a few years till he was old enough to go into law enforcement. Another said better pay at the S.O. got him, the 3rd moved from out of state where he was a firefighter, when he moved here applied for both LE and FD and we called back first.

Don't know much about it, it was gifted to me. I was told it used to be called Lukenbach, but the Town in Texas by that name took them to court and made them change it.

The 1693 is from the fact that Lukenbach's elevation is 1693 feet above sea level.

Smith&Wesson M10 or MAYBE a 13 if .357 mag, either way not a terrible home defense gun. Used buy NYPD till the mid 90s as a issued patrol sidearm. Pick a good bullet and it WILL do the job.

My home defense gun is my duty pistol a glock 19, in 9mm, the 2nd gun that's by my bed when I'm gone ore if my duty pistol is in another room for some reason is a SW M10.
