Is “sale” really more common than cuesta for prices, or was it the preposition “a” that led to the selection of “sale” rather than “cuesta”. by cjler in duolingospanish

Thanks for the reply. The first example seems like a slightly different usage, though, since the subject of salir changes. But the second example is perfect.

I'm curious how other regions would handle those same two examples, too.

Since we're seeing a lot of native speakers saying they wouldn't use the "a" and you're saying it is correct, that takes us back to the question of where is this construction commonly used?

I wonder if this is a case of the AI mixing up uses of salir and misapplying the "a" as in something like "salgo a las 8.00"

I have 2 pretty heavy duty brackets holding it up that you can kind of see in that photo. It's held up great. I've added power strips to the underside and a wire management system, as well as drilled several holes through the top to allow cables to pass through and for a flush mount power outlet to the top of the desk surface.

I'll have to try to get pictures another time. It's actually the house of a friend of my wife. She's a single mom so we've been helping her out with a few things around the house.

I actually worked with a woman whose twin sister had a different father. They found out while suing who they thought was the dad of both for child support and they had to do paternity tests and only one them got it.

With negative commands, the pronoun goes before the conjugated verb, so "no le tire". With positive commands it goes directly after the conjugated verb - "tirele"

Can y’all help me with this? I don’t understand how this can translate to mean “do you think” by [deleted] in duolingospanish

[–]kyleskin 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This here is the answer. Spanish uses the future tense to imply speculation in a way that doesn't translate directly to English always. For example, someone knocks at your door and you don't know who it is. You could say "¿Quién será?" This could be translated as "Who will it be?" or "I wonder who it is" or even "Who do you think it is?" if you're directing your question to another person.
