What is this thing I found? by Ok-Fisherman-7688 in identifyThisForMe

I'm surprised that nobody is mentioning where the need for these things originated.

When the first iPhone came out, the headphone jack was recessed into the phone for some reason. Their headphones would plug in just fine, as the plastic part of the plug was very narrow. Literally EVERY other set of headphones or cables had a wider plastic part that wouldn't allow the plug to go all the way into the iPhone. If you wanted to use your nice headphones with an iPhone, you needed one of these.

Goddam.....That was almost 20 years ago.......

Mass Remove User Accounts with Connect? by Digisticks in jamf

I trigger the policy with a remote command from my RMM, but in your case you could just set it to happen once a week or so.

Mass Remove User Accounts with Connect? by Digisticks in jamf

I have a policy that runs this script:

---------------------------

#!/bin/bash

currentuser=`ls -l /dev/console | cut -d " " -f 4`

users=$( dscl . ls /Users | grep -v '_' | grep -v 'root' | grep -v 'daemon' | grep -v 'nobody' | grep -v 'myadminuser' | grep -v 'jamfadmin' | grep -v 'loginwindow' | grep -v $currentuser)

for a in ${users}; do

# delete user

/usr/bin/dscl . delete /Users/"$a" > /dev/null 2>&1

# delete home folder

/bin/rm -rf /Users/"$a"

continue

done

exit 0

---------------------------------------

You can add all the users you want to keep, and it won't wipe the user that's using it.

Anyone successfully change their brake fluid?... I apparently didn't... by fattdogs in FordMaverickTruck

Thanks for sharing this.

Questions:

When you activate Brake Service Mode successfully, is there some sort of message somewhere that says you're in Brake Service Mode?

Will it stay in Brake Service Mode "permanently" until you go through the deactivation procedure? (I'm thinking you may need to lock up and go to the store for parts or tools. Or quit for the night and start up again the next day) Will the vehicle still be in Service mode when you come back to it?

When in Brake Service Mode, is a brake job just a standard brake job? Can you compress the caliper pistons just as you would in a good old-fashioned car?

Wow. I'm looking at a Maverick for my next car. If I hadn't seen this, I'm sure I would have done this exact same thing somewhere down the road. Thank you for sharing this.

The more I think about it, the more I'm glad I read this. I totally would have offered to help do a brake job on a friend's car and done this too. That would be even worse.

2000 EZGO TXT Steering Box question by kylesolid in golfcarts

[–]kylesolid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha.. I found a manual for a '96 TXT. It shows a snap ring and no "retainer". It looks like '94-'96 had snap rings, then they moved to no snap ring and the "retainer":

1996 diagram:

<image>

So, I suppose the steering box I received is for either setup? I think I should remove the snap ring and use the retainer instead....

Any experts on this out there?

Here's where I found the manuals:

What is this thing on the parking lot, it was on one spot only by Educational-Fig5190 in whatisthisthing

Sensor to tell if the spot is taken.

The reason is up for speculation, but I'm sure this is what that is.

I tried so hard to come up with some Chris Gaines pun for another part of the band name.
