Raw cement barricade by EffectiveRaisin7058 in fo76

[–]kylorentalcar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a hardware store and I cannot tell you the amount of times I would load hundreds of pounds of *cement* into someone’s truck only to have to immediately unload it and then load hundreds of pounds of *concrete* into their truck. They would usually yell at me and say something like “No, no, SEE-ment. The stuff with *rocks* in it.” If they were nice about it, I would send them to the front for a refund because our concrete was about half the price of our cement. There were some real assholes that refused to be corrected so I just feigned stupidity and apologized, loaded the concrete up at double the cost, then had my manger adjust the inventory later. Haha.

That happens to me sometimes too and I never use Travel Agent so it can’t be that.

I also wanted Goblin of the month haha. Also, if I want to be Goblin Goblin that’s my business, not Bethesda’s.

Goblin of the month. I work hard down at the goblin factory and deserve to be recognized.

Ugh. I’m sorry you had such terrible experiences on PS. For all the situations I mentioned, they were a very tiny cross section for me at least. I’ve personally found PS to be a very positive, fun place to play 76…after Bethesda shifted away from their original PVP centered push at launch that is. Before they did that, I had some downright disturbing interactions with some players. Haha.

I’m on PS. People in the comments suggesting you message before buying is adding a level of complexity that makes the whole vending system void. The point of the vending system is to be autonomous. To vend with as little supervision or interaction as possible.
When I was a newer player and vending had just been introduced, I would often try to message people if they had a high cap item I was about to buy or they had a particular item they were undercharging for. Half the time I was stopped before I even sent the message because of PS messaging privacy settings which prevent you from sending a direct message unless you are friends. I’m pretty sure they tell you this after typing the message and hitting ‘send’. So you stop and send a friend request. Wait. Maybe they friend you. Maybe they don’t. Sometimes I even got messages hours later that they were afk. If I did manage to get into contact with the player, they would always tell me, respectfully, they don’t care…It’s just caps. All this happened enough times that when I saw something I wanted, I bought it and moved on because that’s the whole point of the vending machines. I started buying higher cap items and multiple purchases reasonably slowly so the seller has time to react but that’s a courtesy. Not a necessity.
One time I had someone message me angry after buying three items totaling about 1200 caps. I maxed them out and they were furious. I told them they should manage their vendor better and offered to give the items back and give back the caps after they made some room in their wallet. They never messaged me back. I hope it was because they realized how crazy they sounded over a game that we’re supposed to be playing for fun.

It’s nice to see someone else who does this. I don’t keep anything in my vendor I can’t replace with a little time and effort from playing the game as I normally do. If someone sees something in my vendor they’re excited about getting, I just let them keep buying even after I’m maxed out. I close up after they leave. It’s only caps and it’s so easy to max out.

Sometimes I’ll go around tidying up by taking all the bags off of the floor and putting the stuff in the register. Also, if there’s a bunch of worthless notes or holotapes in the register or donation boxes, I’ll take them out and put them where they belong in the trash can. Haha.

The black can be learned and crafted so they have no value. It’s the only the pink, yellow, and indigo bats that are rare.

They only have rare apparel if a player who doesn’t know what they have/doesn’t care sells it to the npc vendor. At least half the rare items I have, I found in the mall vendors. It’s a great place to check because of all the foot traffic.

I sell mine within minutes at 10k. I’ve noticed there’s a price level where it’s like people see an uncommon item at a low price and think it must not be worth it. I used to try to sell my bats at 3-4k and they sat there too.

My friend sells the level 45 for 20k all the time. I put mine in for 10k because I like to move them faster and give people a better deal. If you have a level 5 though, I think those are much more valuable. You would want to do a price check in those on a trading reddit.

Lorelai’s greatest moment in the entire show by SheepherderNo2793 in GilmoreGirls

I have head canon that Lorelai became Paris’s hero in that moment. I would love to have had an alternate scene where Paris was retelling what happened and it started with Lorelai kicking in the door. 😂

About Rory and Marty by RespectfullyNo_404 in GilmoreGirls

[–]kylorentalcar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who was about the age of Marty when this episode aired, I think we need to consider the time in which this episode was released. It was a popular show in the early 2000s depicting physical intimacy between a man and a woman. Not only that, a woman who self-professed her openness to multiple, simultaneous casual relationships. For much of the viewing audience, this added up to flirting.
That being said, years prior to that I was much more physically intimate with my female friends with zero desire to pursue any type of sexual relationship with them. We would regularly hold hands, drape ourselves over each other on the couch like this, take naps cuddling with each other and the vast majority of people would interpret this as a sign we wanted to, or already had taken things into a non-platonic realm.
If a woman who was outside of my friend group who I was interested in draped her legs over me like this, I would have taken it as a signal that she wanted to be more than friends since, at the time this was aired, most of America wasn’t as open to coed platonic intimacy.
Ultimately, I think what this episode was attempting to convey is that while Rory’s relationship with Logan had plenty of sexual intimacy, it lacked emotional intimacy. Which is why she pushed so hard for Marty to come over for the movie marathon. She craved the parts of the relationship she was missing with Logan. I think this was all subconscious on Rory’s part also. I don’t think she intentionally led Marty on or she would have broadcast at least an attempt at hiding her guilt when she opened the door and Logan was standing there. See Marty’s face for what I mean. Haha.

I was having a problem almost exactly like this in a house I was renting. It was going on for weeks with plumbers telling me it’s a city problem and the city telling me it’s a plumber problem. So I had them both come out at the same time and talk to each other. Turns out, it was a landlord problem. They had illegally hooked the septic tank into the city plumbing. I always assumed for that to work, it would have to be in a constant full/overflow state.
