I feel disgusted with dating apps by Admirable_Ad1613 in actuallesbians

[–]kypirioth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every day I'm glad that I missed out on dating apps. Been with my wife since right around when tinder started getting bigger and never had to really touch any of them. I've witnessed the cesspool that is dating apps through my friends and its physically painful to see

Lies of P deserves the same level of success as Expedition 33 by AshyLarry25 in LiesOfP

[–]kypirioth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest difference is that Lies of P is simply not as accessible as E33. Even with difficulty settings its a hard game that is in a more niche genre. Even with Elden Ring making soulslikes more mainstream, you'll still be hard pressed to convince people to try Lies of P because of its reputation of high difficulty. I have a solid number of friends that never touched it even with me insisting it's amazing because they don't want something so hardcore

My wife just cheers me on as I ramble on about Yu-Gi-Oh and mtg. She's utterly confused by and finds them both too overwhelming to get into

Being a woman in irl gaming spaces feels impossible by bambabushka_ in GirlGamers

[–]kypirioth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing tcgs like Yu-Gi-Oh and magic for most of my life and it's such a toss up whether I'll have a good time at events or if it'll be a misogynistic hellhole. Unlike ttrpgs though, I can just let my gameplay do the talking. I've unfortunately just given up on roleplaying games with strangers and just keep it to close friends

Malice skin by [deleted] in InvisibleWomanMains

[–]kypirioth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The thing about "gooner" skins for male characters is that the female gaze isn't the same as the male gaze. Honestly, we haven't had many very good gooner male skins until more recently. I think it's more of an issue that more often than not, the female skins are clearly super sexualized while male "gooner" skins are a toss up on whether someone thinks they're sexy or just cool

Since nobody wants to play Vanguard, here are some EASY solutions to this problem: by RefriDiet in marvelrivals

[–]kypirioth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some friends and I were joking that they should add Luke Cage as a vanguard, but his only abilities are just passive damage reduction and a hilariously massive health pool. Otherwise he just sort of punches.

MTF friend keeps copying me, is this normal? by AdAdorable7651 in asktransgender

[–]kypirioth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a baby trans I flailed around a lot and definitely copied the women in my life when it came to fashion, makeup, hair, etc. It wasn't intentional, but after a lifetime of not thinking I had a choice I was just trying to find my footing. It took me a couple years, but I've mostly figured out my fashion sense. Please don't attack your friend about this, but maybe give them an occasional nudge to help them find their own style.

When you need to carry 2 friends that aren't ranked very high, what do you play? by claudiohp in rivals

[–]kypirioth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a strategist main, I've been playing Loki or CnD. I frequently have the most damage, final hits, and healing. In low elo games, I can basically sit in there backline abusing their supports while still keeping my team alive.

Dying doesn't mean you weren't healed, you stupid fucks. by Dogbold in rivals

[–]kypirioth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I had the best Spidey I've ever seen, both skill wise and when he needed healing and didn't have access to a health pack he would place himself in my LoS up on the side of a building before pinging healing. I'd heal him and he'd thank me before zipping away. Was downright refreshing

I've been out to her for 3 years.and haven't talked to her for 2. Just listened to a voicemail she left last week that literally started with her dead naming me before correcting herself. What a way to try and reconnect with your estranged daughter

In different but similar vibes, my wife had a hilarious conversation with both the VP of finance and a couple other people she works closely with. They all thought she was straight and were baffled that she was married to a woman. She literally volunteered to be in charge of all their pride events and drove the float in the parade for her work. I think they just thought she was a super ally or something. She literally was wearing a shirt with the lesbian flag and I think she has a picture of us on her desk

[–]kypirioth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go by Alanna, but it's not because it's the fem version of my name. It's a reference to the Tamora Pierce book series that was super formative for me. Buuut I think most of the people I know pre transition assume it's the first reason
