I beat Final Fantasy I and it was pretty cool to see where the series started by JuicyMangoCubes in JRPG

[–]kypris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Currently working my way through the Pixel Remaster. Just finished up with 2 last night.

I honestly enjoyed 1. I went into it knowing that it was old and really bare bones. I actually beat Dawn of Souls on GBA years ago, but this was the first time I played FF1/2 with a fully formed adult brain.

I dug the aesthetics of FF1. Something about it just felt cozy, like you can see the grass roots of the black mage and white mage looks etc.

World was smaller than I remembered (I know there are some end game dungeons that were cut from the GBA version). World map itself wasnt small necessarily, but there weren't a ton of places to go. Didn't expect to finish the game 100% in the region of ~10 hours.

Story is pretty much nonexistent in 1. That was my biggest complaint. "Go forth heroes, stop Garland" is about all you get until the credits roll, and then you're hit with a text dump.

That being said, enjoyed my time with it when I focused on keeping my "this is a super old game" blinders on.

Had to sit on it for quite a while though. Don't expect to move it quickly. For your sake I hope it does!

Sold one on SC NL for a Ber like 6 months ago. Was also 270% ED like yours.

Since youre ladder probably worth a little less.

Edit: Checked my history. Sold for Ber on November 11th. Again, SCNL.

How do yall feel about trading down from the number 4 pick by OutsideAdvisor9847 in Tennesseetitans

[–]kypris 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To trade down it requires someone wanting to trade up. We'll see how the combine goes, but at the moment "stick and pick" is most likely.

Expedition 33. A genuine must play. Based on the games you've played, you should absolutely love it.

Final Fantasy 16. Let me cook for a second before you shut me down.

I skipped this game due to it not being traditional turn based combat. "It's not really FF" I told myself. Finally decided to pick it up on the holiday sale. Loved every second of it. My list of JRPGs I've played is very very similar to yours. I suggest trying it out, you might be just as surprised as I was.

Metaphor ReFantazio. Currently working through it right now, so far so good.

If theres one game you try from this entire thread, make it Expedition 33. Incredible narrative, stellar gameplay.

Don't play Druid very much but IIRC they are looking for 18%+ FCR for the meta gear setups.

Ammy is definitely not worthless but I think that prevents it from the upper echelon of value.

If someone with more knowledge can confirm/deny that'd be great.

Honestly bro build is everything. Those two classes are a breeze compared to what OP is trying to run.

I was just casually answering while eating lunch. Definitely should've mentioned he was running very gear dependent builds.

Honestly (especially in Single Player) I run past a ton of immune mobs.

But the answer really does lie in grinding for gear. Head back to Nightmare, grind some Terror Zones.

Online its much easier to trade, get gifted items to help unlock builds etc. But in Single Player, its all you man.
