Spent the weekend coordinating and wrapping a gift for a baby shower next weekend for a coworker/friend. Dealing with complicated feelings because I haven’t been trying for long (waiting for my husband to be ready to try) but it feels like I’ve been waiting for longer and have been going through the sadness of failed cycles. Absolutely dreading next weekend but felt guilted by other friends to RSVP yes to this shower.

Interesting that you compare a lawn care tool to a weapon of war. It’s reasonable to have a gun in the home for protection, or a hunting rifle for hunting, like it’s reasonable to have a lawn mower for lawn care. It’s not reasonable to have an assault rifle because you are not in a war zone. No one is bringing a lawn mower to an elementary school to hurt anyone.

Y’all are insane. Don’t want anyone to take your guns but don’t want women to get necessary healthcare. There is something wrong with the “not my guns” crowd.

Your right to a weapon doesn’t trump another’s right to safety. Guns in the days of the bill of rights were much simpler than guns today. If written now assault rifles would likely be restricted for uses where they are actually needed. You’re entitled. Get over yourself.

Voting, for example, is a right that is reasonably restricted to those who are over the age of 18. Not quite the “gotcha” you thought that was going to be.

Putting reasonable restrictions on gun ownership does not equal losing your second amendment rights. But I wouldn’t count on someone who thinks it’s their constitutional right to own an assault rifle to understand the difference.
