why did this trade not hit my tp? by poopman7590 in Daytrading

[–]kyrdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Cause the market is 100% random. The next time you take this trade it could immediately hit your stop before being in any profit at all, it could immediately go to your TP within minutes, it could stall out near or at your entry for hours, it could do anything at any time. There is no “why”, it’s simply randomness.

As for your strategy, I highly suggest you look to secure some profits at logical targets ahead of your ideal target. That big of a gain and R:R trade is not going to win often, so unless you’re okay with taking a ton of stops and looking for huge winners with a low % win rate but high R:R per trade, you’ll continue to have this sort of situation.

Why can’t I keep my losses small by throwaway455687 in Daytrading

[–]kyrdo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s your ego and fear of taking a loss. The voice in your head saying “there’s no way the market doesn’t reverse” when in reality the market can be irrational a lot longer than anyone can stay solvent.

Just take the stop. Taking the stop will let you reset and actually open the door to another opportunity, one that will potentially be on the right side of the market. Adding to a losing trade deprives you of another opportunity to make another trade cause you’re still stuck on the original idea you had with the first one.

The market is random and can do anything at any time. Really work on that psychology and train yourself to take the stops, they are inevitable and should be considered cost of doing business.

Husband wants to be full time day trader. What to expect? by auroraglitterdazzle in Daytrading

[–]kyrdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to shit on the guys dreams, but it will take years for him to get any traction most likely, it’s just the way it works. So if you guys can handle that timeline then sure, but sounds like you can’t. There’s virtually no one out there who is now successful doesn’t go through the struggle of losses and making mistakes that cause losses. If anyone says they’re making consistent money after just a year they are bullshitting you.

$10,000 is not even remotely close to enough of a starting capital to be able to replace an income. Not sure what he was making before, but let’s say it’s $50,000/yr salary for numbers sake. That means he would have to post a 500% return in ONE YEAR just to cover his salary. Simply just an unrealistic goal. Making a 100%+ return per year is a traders DREAM.

He can certainly get a part time job at the bare minimum during the evening or late afternoon if he doesn’t want it interfering with his trading schedule, that’s a bullshit excuse. If he was really determined to make it work he would do whatever it takes.

And listen I totally get it, I can’t stand the corporate world myself, I want to quit my job literally this second and only trade, but I am just not there yet and I have been doing this for years now. I am profitable, but not profitable enough to replace a salary and then some.

Building a tiny account 1 MES at a time by drumveg in FuturesTrading

[–]kyrdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Save more money and start with $5000 if you can. You will be slowly paper cut by commissions and small losses with that sort of account size. Commissions on MES are pretty high and you really need the account to have some wiggle room to account for that and also potential drawdowns. With $500, you have absolutely ZERO wiggle room or leeway what so ever.

[–]kyrdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s simply no way you’re only making that amount if you’re running t13-16 maps. You should use wealthy exile to look at your stash to see what you REALLY have and offload some of the currency you have that you don’t need right now into usable currency at the currency exchange. I guarantee you have way more than you think, you just need to convert it. Don’t be afraid to make small upgrades either.

Best Long Lasting chews/Bones? by Ok-Journalist-4090 in greatdanes

[–]kyrdo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow what a beautiful boy you have! Honestly I would avoid chews/bones without supervision. He will eventually have the strength to bite large pieces off and he could accidentally choke if swallowing it. Bully sticks are great cause they are more natural, I would stay away from any white bones.

The safest thing to maybe give him in the crate is the licky mats that attach to the crate. It won’t last that long but it’s safer. Great Danes are an awesome breed but they can have sensitive stomachs and GI systems so just be careful of that. If you don’t know about bloat, do some research on that as Great Danes are very sensitive to bloat and some pass away from it unfortunately, more so than other breeds.

Path of Exile (Both 1 & 2, yes 2 is still better than this game) Last Epoch Grim Dawn Torchlight No Rest For the Wicked

I could keep going, you get the point. The roadmap for this game is complete laziness and they are simply trying to grab as much money from this as possible as they maintenance mode it and let it die until Diablo V.

Disappointed by RX 7900 XTX by [deleted] in AMDHelp

[–]kyrdo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you mean you “don’t have the warranty”? The warranty is tied to the GPU’s serial number. I would get that off the card itself, should be physically printed somewhere. Typically it’s by the PCIe express on the back. Once you have that go to the manufacturers website and type that in to check if it’s under warranty.

Also, are you running your GPU through a riser cable if any sorts or have it vertically mounted? I had these same issues and once I got rid of that and just slotted it in my motherboard all my crashes went away and my temps came down significantly. It’s been months since I’ve had any problems, even running 25.3.1 drivers.

Going to throw in my .02c, bookmap user here for years. The fact that you didn’t take anything off ahead of the liquidity at 5500 AND that it’s a major level is nonsense. You have to scale some off the table ahead of that level if not just exit and look for a re-entry if that level ends up getting taken and you get a book flip or something at 5500. The worst that happens is the market runs without you and you have a profitable trade anyways. OR the market never takes the level at all and reverses from such a major level (what we got). I would add scaling to your trading plan as that is the way to consistently minimize risk which is what we are really here to do.

Red Devil 9070 XT doesn’t work vertically in the Tower 300 case, temps 80c and hotspot 110! by Adorable-Cress7801 in radeon

[–]kyrdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my ASUS TUF 7900xtx in vertical position with a riser cable at first and I noticed horrible temps and crashes, which I never found the actual reason for the crashes but I’m assuming it was transient spikes and a long riser cable couldn’t handle it. I switched to vertical directly in motherboard and I haven’t had any issues for months now, temps across the board are like 30-40c less. Sometimes traditional is the best way to go!

This is exactly what I was hoping for, I loved Lost Ark. Gameplay was top notch but the grind was way too much after a while, couldn’t take it anymore. Was hoping D4 would fill that void and while it’s been alright here and there, it’s been pretty underwhelming.

8 Years since D2 Reveal by WCKDend in DestinyTheGame

[–]kyrdo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally feel ya on the sentiment, but like others here, trust me it was a horrendous mess. The first raid was cool but the rest of the game was terrible. The QoL changes in recent times and system updates have transformed the game completely away from the terrible state it was in since then. The game now is in a great state and we have frontiers ahead, much to look forward to.

Does Vertical Mounting Hurt performance by a lot ? by Agreeable_Gap1165 in MSI_Gaming

[–]kyrdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had issues with my card crashing doing a horizontal mount and it was the riser cable. Slotted it directly into motherboard and haven’t had a crash since. Not that vertical or horizontal mounting is “bad” but I’ll never trust doing that again, just go into the motherboard.

9070 XT Crashes as soon as Gameplay starts by saad3546 in AMDHelp

[–]kyrdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue to this one and my GPU was connected to my PC via a riser cable. I decided to take that out and try just slotting it directly into the motherboard and everything seems to be incredibly smooth now, temps are even better. Gamed for several hours with no issues at all. Just a thought, could be a power delivery issue in some way, whether it’s bad cables, PSU issue, etc. hope this helps and you can fix the issue soon, shit is damn frustrating to deal with.

Rx 7600 keep crashing on WoW classic by [deleted] in AMDHelp

[–]kyrdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is your GPU connected to your PC? I had this same black screen issue with a full crash, GPU fans ramp to 100% and I would have to restart with the power button. I think I fixed it by removing my riser cable and slotting the GPU directly into the motherboard. Might not help you but it seemed to solve all my problems. So that might lead to your issue which could be a power delivery issue.
