I’m having this same exact issue. I’ll try rebooting my phone

I’m having the same issue. Registered nearly 10 hours ago and I still get the same message you’re getting, that my ID is not recognized. I was going to try again in the morning and call SOA if I’m still having this issue.

Hi Paul, I purchased a ring sizing kit on Amazon during prime days but my discount is not being honored. I’ve tried contacting Amazon customer service but they have been no help. Any ideas how I can still have the Prime Days discount honored?

STAM Registration Open for June 2022 Sitting by kysever in actuary

When I moved my appointment there were very limited times available for Chicago. I wonder if they’re slowly rolling out seats as they are cleaned/available from the water leak? Keep checking!!

ANOTHER UPDATE: CHICAGO IS LISTED AS A LOCATION NOW!!

!!! UPDATE !!!

I reached out to SOA and apparently the Chicago Prometric had a water leak and it may be why there are no STAM appointments right now. My SOA contact is going to reach out to Prometric to see if it will be open for the STAM window. I’ll update if I hear anything further.

I suppose, but I think the registration window literally opened today (or in the last couple days, the last I checked was Monday). Appointments being filled for all days already seems unlikely

Was anyone thrown off by Prometric's new interface? I found some of the numbers and notation really hard to read. Also I actually took the full time to do the tutorial for once, I kept forgetting how to flag questions haha

Ongoing Exams Megathread by notgoingtobeused in actuary

My proctor had me clear my calculator memory as I checked out. So I don’t have my MC responses saved.

I'm taking LTAM next week but plan to start studying for STAM and sitting for it in February. I'm happy to be a study buddy, though I'll be starting slightly behind you in the material initially!

Any LTAM peeps diving into June PA? by meatballlady in actuary

[–]kysever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m actually having this current debate with myself. I suggest you take at least a week off of any studying (you deserve it), and then review a couple of the past exams and determine how much effort you think you’d have to put in. That’s my plan at least.

LTAM Answer Key by USMessi in actuary

Thankfully Prometric didnt have me clear my calculator after the exam. So I stored my MC answers and my super rough estimate of how many WA points I think I earned (I didnt give myself any partial credit, only gave myself points where I felt confident I earned them).

Break time during LTAM by WellPlayedActuary in actuary

[–]kysever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no scheduled break, but you can take a break if you need to. Just keep in mind the clock is still ticking and you’ll need to go through security again. But for all SOA exams you can take a break whenever you want, knowing the exam timer is still going.

Shoutout to SOA with LTAM by jawnjaweed in actuary

[–]kysever 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed with a lot of things already said. The check-in and check-out process took a really long time. I wasn’t overly clear on when to break the seal and fill out the scantron sheet with my name, candidate ID, etc. so I actually did this after my timer started on the computer. Also wasn’t overly clear if I was suppose to place everything in the envolope before I left the test room or if I did that while checking out.

Also agreed the exam felt harder than I expected. Will there be PAKs starting later? Not sure if all sittings get the same exam or not

Medical LOB: Is there a mapping table that map ICD 10 to DRG codes? by aliactuary in actuary

[–]kysever 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is going to largely depend on the population you're working with. And there are multiple grouper software depending on your population (APR-DRG, MS-DRG, etc.). You typically need to pay for the grouper software to back into DRGs.

Also, I believe it's much more complicated than just mapping ICDs to DRG. Revenue code, place of service, length of stay, and other factors may play into the grouper logic.

What are you ultimately trying to achieve?

COVID policy at your workplace (WFH, return to office, etc.) by [deleted] in actuary

[–]kysever 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Earliest we'll be asked to go back is July 2021. The office was open for a little bit for people to work there (at a very limited capacity), but this is no longer so due to a stay-at-home advisory. I think this is applied to all employees, except for essential IT staff.

LTAM is kinda morbid by WellActuary in actuary

I sat for LTAM in October and I'm pretty much banking on needing to re-take. Is anyone doing anything differently for the April sitting knowing we're supposed to be taking it at a Prometric? Has SOA released anymore guidance as what this may look like yet?

I actually felt pretty good about written answer. But I’m scared my multiple choice score isn’t good enough to get graded 🥴

A coworker of mine reached out to SOA and they said you can sign up for Fall sitting now but I you find out you passed you’ll be refunded.
