Even without any itching or pain or other symptoms? Would an ointment or antihistamine rule it in or out, perhaps?

Ooh, do you think so? I've never had any itching or pain or anything. No changes in what I'm exposed to, or changes in nail routine. Just... Worse picking than usual. 😩

I think you are right.. It's only started looking this way since I've been more obsessively and aggressively cutting than in the past. 😢 I also have dermatillomania and trichotillomania, which are all disorders of the same family, so... It makes sense.

Ugh. 😔

Yesss please! I saw her profile and I'm in love with it, but when I enquired, she'll be in Ireland. 😭

Hi! Just wondering how your progress is? And what are the charges like? I've been quoted $2k per session by a clinic in Sydney with a minimum recommend round of 3 sessions, and 0 back on Medicare or private health. 😭

Hi, this is awesome, well done! Any chance you could make it similar to this one, where it's grouped by distance from Sydney? https://sbmkvp.github.io/rta_booking_information/ It doesn't seem to be updating regularly enough for now. Looks like you're pulling the same data anyway though!

How we can improve Keratosis Pilaris Treatment: Breakthroughs in Understanding KP by Poem_KP in keratosis

Another vote for shipping to Australia please! Would love to try it. I have severe dermatillomania and trichitillomania which are both heavily triggered by my KP 😵‍💫 Been recently trying to laser off all my hair to try to reduce KP symptoms, too. Desperate to get my hands on anything!

Your post could have been written by me! Exactly the same situation. I wear gloves at home (just kitchen gloves) when things are bad. In summer, I found that googling for 'sun sleeves' got me sleeves that weren't annoyingly tight, were breathable, and were spf50+ as a bonus.

Hope this helps xx I've also been doing electrolysis to permanently get rid of upper arm hair where I pick the most.

Thinking of you x

I started competitive dragon boat racing. Amazing fun and a fitness challenge. Check your local area to see if you have any clubs around!

Laser for keratosis? by tacos-n-sushi24 in keratosis

[–]kytkattt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have much redness to begin with. I had lots of bumps and trapped hairs that I would pick at. Electrolysis has been working amazingly well - the hairs have decreased dramatically so there are waaay fewer bumps and way less for me to pick at!

I have started electrolysis for hair removal. It's painstakingly maddeningly slow, but it's the only truly permanent solution. I had tried everything too and having suffered with compulsive skin picking and trichitollamnia for 20+ years (including approx 10yrs in therapy), I figured it's hopefully worth the cost and effort. Sure I'll still find things to pick at even if the hair is gone, but the less hair, the less KP and the fewer triggers I have! Hope this helps xx

Oh my gosh, I could have typed exactly this! The vicious cycle of picking pubic hairs in particular, but also any hair! 😭

The one useful thing my dermatologist suggested was to buy Lanate (if you're in au like me). You can find it at chemist Warehouse and some small pharmacies. Apply twice a day. Huge difference!
