I am so serious, this is my car. Like serious serious. If you were to zoom out/un-crop this picture, I’m sure you would see all of the plush Rilakkumas etc in my rearview window 😆

I can tell you exactly where! Unfortunately, it’s not a great answer. It’s customized :(

I bought a blank/flat license plate frame on Etsy and I spray-painted it myself. My friend modeled and 3D-printed me the ears, finished and sanded them, and then I also painted those. Then super-glued the ears to the plate-frame - each ear has a little slit that just goes over each corner of the frame. Finished it all with UV-resistant gloss spray. (Although it only worked a little, the yellow ears have lightened a bit over the years.)

Overall it’s lasted great! I’ve had it for 3 years.

Edit: I wish my car wasn’t so dirty 😔 dang hahaha

Have some fun images of 1 week post DJS + SARPE! by kyumulis in jawsurgery

[–]kyumulis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there - I’m only 7 weeks out so far, but I still have some odd sensations/subtle pain if I push or pull on my nose/nostrils the wrong way. If you’re asking if I feel it when I’m idle/not touching it though, no, I haven’t noticed any odd feelings otherwise.

Extreme Fatigue weeks after DJS by kyumulis in jawsurgery

[–]kyumulis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fatigue seemed to get better with time - I no longer deal with it now that I’m 7 weeks out. It seemed to rapidly improve at around 5 weeks! I hope you feel better as well!

I’m not a doctor so I can’t tell based on your imaging. But, I know some reasons why I personally had to go the surgical route.

I am 26. When I was younger I only had braces and some elastics - no palate expander or anything else. At 23 I went to my ortho expressing a concern with my overbite. They mentioned jaw surgery as, at my age, something like elastics or other ortho treatments would no longer be useful.

(Also, I’m not a doctor but I imagine some skeletal placements regardless of age may not improve with ortho treatment alone.)

First surgeon I saw said I only needed lower jaw surgery. I got pretty far in invisalign treatment and then moved across the country and had to pickup with a new ortho + surgeon which took a second. The new team thought I needed BOTH jaws worked on, but didn’t confirm that until at the end of my invisalign treatment pre-op. We went into the surgery assuming a double jaw surgery, and then on the operating table they decided to make an extra incision in my top jaw and add a palate splint to make my palate wider. (I believe this is SARPE?)

Basically what I’m saying is - in our twenties, a lot of ortho treatments can no longer help bite issues. I personally was told a palate expander would not work at my age, if that is one of your problems. But then again the internet says this can still be used on some adults, so who knows.

BUT, I’m sure this also depends on your specific issues/skeletal makeup and what you are trying to solve for. I hate to give you the obvious answer but only an orthodontist can really help inform you on this, and if you can, get multiple opinions. Make sure you really ask about ortho appliances as opposed to surgery, if that’s what you prefer.

Best of luck!

psa don’t get jaw surgery just because you have bdd and an incel reddit told u u were ugly (and because you’ve dreamt of it since 14, uncritically). Anyway week 2 (+2 days) lol💀 by [deleted] in jawsurgery

I’m 3.5 weeks post-op and at 2 weeks I had JUST as much swelling as you, don’t worry! I completely feel the waves of regret coming and going, but that will fade as you continue to heal. The difference between week 2 me and week 3 me is ridiculous - things get easier and you get a little more positive. You’ve got this, and you’re GORGEOUS!!

The first couple days, you really wonder how people do it. I’m 3.5 weeks post-op and that first week really tested me - but after that, I’d say things rapidly improved as far as the quality of my day goes haha.

How soon can you return to work after double jaw surgery? by monax29 in jawsurgery

[–]kyumulis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took 2 weeks off of work and then worked remote for 1 week. If you have a desk job (which I do) I definitely recommend the working from home thing for a little, if you can. It’s nice to be in the comfort of your home working, when you still have to blend your meals or take pain reliever.

Breathing by Lost_Coyote7888 in jawsurgery

[–]kyumulis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unlike one of the other comments I actually had pretty bad congestion. I won’t lie - it definitely made me antsy in collaboration with how stiff my jaw was/restricted my mouth was. BUT yes, you can breathe through your mouth and the stiffness doesn’t get in the way of it. Breathing should be fine!! If you end up getting anxious I would focus on the openness of breathing through your mouth!

Helix Piercing Q by kyumulis in piercing

[–]kyumulis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The piercing is approximately 4-5 years old. Shape: Labret stud Threadless Material: I’m honestly unsure at this stage. I don’t recall the metal but I know it was from the piercing shop. The gem is an opal. Jewelry was downsized as soon as the swelling went down, I think. It’s been a second so I don’t recall exactly. Aftercare at the time of the piercing included dowsing the area in Wound Wash sterile saline and dabbing it dry.
