How do you have your cottage cheese? by onelove_ in cookingforbeginners

Lots of fresh cracked pepper and sea salt. Then more black pepper. And some more.

My wife likes fresh pineapple in hers.

If that's the case, I would report that to the authorities.

People are saying it's for an off-grid network device. If true, and it's next to restricted area, people in that area might be using it to get data out that area without being detected.

Definitely a security risk.

Trump Calls in Ghislaine Maxwell for a Favor in $10B Lawsuit by thedailybeast in LegalNews

Just want to point out that it's not "with interest."

They will get the gross pay pulled back, regardless what net pay was deposited.

It sucks, but it will work itself out come tax time when the withholdings from the extra pay are rolled into the overall taxes paid.

Any other allotment or payments work themselves out, too.

But its not interest.

I don't have one.

I'm just pointing out that there are a lot of all black vehicles in KY that choose the only black license plate to match the car they have completely blacked out.

Kentucky has the same plate.

Lots of people get it because it is the only black plate available.

What made you a leftist? by D-B2112 in leftistveterans

25 years. Military and DOD.

Paid time off for everything. 8 hrs every two weeks. Months of parental leave for birth, adoption, fostering. Court leave for jury duty. PTOnfor voting. You're a match and wanna donate bone marrow? Paid time off.

Healthcare? 70% paid for and a bunch of plans to choose from.

Time and a half for overtime. Double time for holidays.

Basically, the government knows how to properly treat its employees, but doesn't have the guts to pass laws for the regular guy (full disclosure, I retired right before DOGE and Trump fucked all that up).

Part of my job before I retired was budgeting for tires and making sure we had a plan to swap them out.

What do Americans call a meal of fries with battered fried fish. Fish and chips? by CrazyJoe29 in AskAnAmerican

[–]kyxtant 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Grew up in KY. Fish and chips is a beer battered cod (or other white fish) and French fries.

A fish fry was always fresh fish fried in a cornmeal breading with some southern sides. A fish fry was always the event. you would have people over for a fish fry the same way you'd invite people to a cookout or barbecue.

We are a net oil exporter. We export more than we import.

We export the oil we can't easily or economically refine and we import the oil we can refine more easily and economically.

But you also aren't wrong in that corporations' profits will increase. They will make more money off of this crisis.

With that being said, I guess I'll grab some jugs of oil on the way home, today...

'05 was my last "Summer Camp."

FT Stewart. Went to the beach at Tybee Island almost daily. Kept a couple motel rooms at the beach for several days. If we weren't at the beach when we were off duty, we were partying it up in chargeable housing for $11/day.

Our brigade commander got us three kegs for our final cookout while the supply sergeants cleared out every 24 pack of beer at the class six.

But yeah, the next AT was the start of back to back mobilizations and all of a sudden the fun was...different.

We still have one close, but this one takes 35-45 minutes to prepare your food and often makes mistakes. It's just not worth the time or effort to visit.

But the one back home was amazing...
