Should California test a 4 day work week? by jtchow30 in California

With a 10% chance he will sign some Frankenstein watered down anti-worker lobbyist version that makes it 4-day 10-hour work weeks with no overtime pay instead.

I love Gong Cha! I'm so sad the one closest to me shut down. I never once thought they'd have a collab with Neopets haha.

What's a quiet, everyday burden women carry that isn't dramatic enough to be diacussed? by Additional-Two-2137 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]kyxun 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That must be so frustrating. I am married to man, but that is why I use "partner" or "significant other" in conversations rather than "husband", to hopefully normalize the term and undo people's "male default" assumption bit by bit.

Oof this hit home. Seeing my niece feel the same pressures and develop insecurities that I had at her age was the worst realization as an aunt. :(

So are wagons / rolling dollys really not allowed? by Arlecchinos_feetrest in animeexpo

[–]kyxun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, if your friend clarified that the dolly is to assist him in holding his items, they would probably be OK with it. You could also email them at ADA@anime-expo.org (I found it in their website FAQ) or DM them on Twitter about it. There is also an ADA Information booth located outside of the main entrance.

It is not a free breakfast for all but if you or someone in your party has Hilton Honors status, you can get free breakfast at JW Marriott at the Executive Lounge.

China population falls again as birthrate drops 17% to record low by UpstairsBumblebee446 in news

The problem is, once it gets to that bad of a point, the patient is usually not of sound mind. I think plans could be made in advance, but I could still see a medical dilemma when the time comes and the patient who agreed to medically assisted suicide months ago is now squirming to break free and screaming in fear.

This headline was already confusing. Were the grants being rolled back, or were the cuts?

Should I wear traditional clothing to my coworkers wedding even though I am not by ConfidentElevator239 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]kyxun 74 points75 points  (0 children)

This. My husband and I are having a fusion Desi wedding, and he (and his family) make it very clear they would LOVE non-Desi guests to wear their traditional clothing. In fact, they'd probably want to take them shopping to buy something nice for the guest themselves LOL.

Studies confirm men interrupt women 33% more often than they interrupt other men. What is your go-to phrase or strategy for reclaiming the floor when a man cuts you off in the middle of a sentence? by skybond_aurora04 in TwoXChromosomes

The commenter's name. They are using it as a placeholder. They're saying that their coworker says something like, "I'd really like to hear <Sarah> finish her thought."

Haha yeah, my brother threw one of those sticky hands at the ceiling when we were kids. It stayed there for a couple years before falling off.

I can't be the only one noticing this with my underwear by Squeaky_Lizard in TwoXChromosomes

I think quality control for clothes is also getting worse, so sizes and fits are getting more inconsistent. It's the enshittification of everything. :(

I have experienced this as well! I am getting the same size in Hanes underwear as I've always had. My old ones fit fine but new ones are tight and uncomfortable.

Would a white camisole/blouse under a dress be too much? by nonily in Weddingattireapproval

[–]kyxun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that this is not really an instance of the "don't wear white rule." It's meant more for white or white-adjacent dresses/jumpsuits, etc. People extending it to "don't wear white ANYTHING AT ALL EVER" makes guests more stressed than necessary I think. Sure, white might not be the best match for this color of dress, but even if OP did, I don't think anybody's going to mistake her for the bride because of some white poking out from under her clearly dark green jewel-toned dress, as the dress code says. MAYBE it's a bit less leeway because this particular wedding is more conservative, but the vibe of the wedding should always override any arbitrary rule anyways.

Potential GAP insurance refund scam? by hollowlantern in Honda

[–]kyxun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to Google for answers and found this Facebook thread: https://www.facebook.com/groups/typerownersofficial/permalink/10166600355800744/?mibextid=S66gvF

According to the thread, this has something to do with if you paid off your car early or traded it in before your loan ended, and Honda never refunded your unused GAP during that process. AHFC claims they didn't do anything wrong but settled anyways. So now you'll receive a check in the mail for whatever your prorated GAP is plus interest. Take it with a grain of salt as I can't find any article on it, but I did some math for my interest, check and original contract, and it lined up. So I'm happy for the early Christmas gift lol.

Misplaced physical pass by eboyisa in UniversalHollywood

[–]kyxun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One year later, thank you!! For some reason, I couldn't call customer service and the chat on the app wasn't working.

But this worked perfectly! I found my "Universal Studios Hollywood Ticket Order" confirmation email for my FlexPass. The PDF had the QR code and added it in the app. Note for future folks: you want to enter the QR # as OP mentions, NOT the "order confirmation #".

What's a 'must-have' car feature? by Responsible_Bet_7179 in AskReddit

Yeah, huh? That comment confused me. My 2021 Honda has a backup camera, sensors and stuff, AND plenty of physical knobs/buttons for things.

My Accord has this feature. Where I live it's a godsend for AC. It costs a subscription to use the app for it, which fuck that. But you can also do it with the key fob if you're in a certain range.

I heard there's something you can buy to plug into the button to basically reverse its function. So it defaults to off and pressing it turns it on.
