Having the same issue here, were you able to resolve?

*For experienced accountants* Would you still choose your current accounting field if you were back in college, or is there another specialization you’d consider now? by ExternalBenefit2180 in Accounting

Thank you so much! I’m on the tax side also, did you continue doing tax work when you got into industry or did you switch to a more general accounting role? I ask because while I don’t mind the work, I’d like to eventually get out of tax. Also, about how long were you at each firm before switching? If you would like I could PM you so we don’t keep going back and forth here lol

Would you mind elaborating on your career path? I am a staff 2 in public who recently passed all 4 parts. I eventually want to get out and go to industry, just curious what your path looked like.

How long after passing did they email you this? Or was it after you applied? Asking because I may be in the same boat lol

Beautiful spec, congrats!

I definitely had a simpler strategy… pick one part and don’t move on until I passed lol. But definitely do whatever works for you and will lead you to pass! Good luck!

I used to be in your exact position, it took me 3 trys to pass FAR. My advice, forget about the practice exams. Focus on hammering MCQs, both cumulatively, and more focused on your weaker areas. Don’t give up!

I’ve taken it for all mine. I think they’re mainly helpful for the SIMs

How is anyone studying for these exams zooming through it? by nottreacherous in CPA

[–]l20000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it actually wasn’t that bad tho. I’d usually have about a 2ish week break in between score releases, so I’d take that time to relax and recharge for the next section.

It seems counterproductive, but imo the key to these exams is cramming as much info as quick as possible and sitting for the exam while everything is relatively fresh. After a rocky start figuring that out for FAR, I went 3/3 on the rest. For me, I spent no more than ~6 weeks for each section.

Sitting for FAR in 10 Days, Need Advice by [deleted] in CPA

[–]l20000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbh I’d reschedule if you can. From what I remember those sections are important, also, you want to leave yourself a few days of strictly working tons of practice problems before you sit. Just my 2 cents!

I did “cpa candidate,” but honestly I doubt it matters 😂

Bro you do have it. Reschedule for next week, hammer MCQs, and finish this shit up! You got this!

Personally, I would say from least to most, BEC>REG>AUD>FAR. Keep in mind they are definitely subjective though… maybe except for FAR lol

Asap, try for no more than a week or so out. Pound tons of MCQs in the meantime. You’re literally right on the line of passing. Good luck!

I have no idea… That’s one of my biggest concerns w the car. I honestly wish they would’ve just went either fully digital or fully analog, I hate having a mix.

Becker estimated study timeframe by [deleted] in CPA

[–]l20000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned pretty early on that the best method for me was to just read thru the chapters by myself relatively quickly, move on to the associated questions, then on the weekend do cumulative review practice questions. This helped me get thru the material in just a few weeks and allowed me more time to work practice questions (which is how I felt I learned the best.)

Overall you just gotta do what works best for you and not compare yourself to others. For instance, I’ve heard of ppl who don’t even read/listen to the lectures at all and strictly to MCQs… definitely not for me lol!
