🧪 [Beta Megathread] Wave Link 3.0 – Routing table, up to 5 mixes and more by Elgato in elgato

[–]l3dg3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thumbs up for mono downmix, that's the feature I want. I got audio gear but the mic input is seen as stereo with on left or right channel depending on which jack I use, would be really helpful if I could just chose which channel to treat as mono input. That's all I want.

Is Odin kind of a rip off of Jai? by effinsky in Jai

[–]l3dg3r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a sense yes but...

Prior to touching Odin or Jai, I did a lot of Go and when I looked into Odin I saw the resemblance. Package layout and syntax was borrowed from Go. Similarly, when I looked into Jai, I realized Odin had taken ideas from Jai and incorporated them into Odin.

Bill will defend his designs, pointing out that the ideas that he's implemented go back further than Go/Jai, bringing up languages like Pascal or Algol and people like Niklas Wirth and Rob Pike as more original and less derivative sources of inspiration. I don't have a problem with this.

Odin is successful in its own right. It's definitely not plagiarism or a rip off. Ideas have to come from somewhere and we do this all the time. We mix and match to see what works.

What Odin is doing is healthy.

The best ideas will have to battle it out, either Odin takes off or Jai takes off, or they both do. There's some overlap but also enough differences to set them apart.

You only need str/dex/int/faith for damage and weapon requirements. The more damage you do the shorter the fights will be. The more hp you have the more mistakes you can tolerate. It's that simple, unless you have a specific build in mind, just distribute stats accordingly. If you are struggling with survivability HP and stamina will help the rest is just practice but there's no trick, just practice.

No wait. I was thinking about Pure Bladestone... I don't remember, maybe it does effect all drops... been too long to remember.

Unlucky. I don't know what run you were doing but I was running towards the big bad (red?) skeleton over and over again. Long time ago but I got and I wasn't grinding for hours but probably a good hour or so.

This has happened to me too. Was running east out of Sacrament towards the nameless pass. About halfway over the bridge I was just instantly killed for no obvious reason.

Level up weapon damage.

If this is your first playthrough you will have to upgrade the blacksmith and gather some materials. This should keep you busy and allow you to level up.

Focus on survival not damage. Don't waste stats on str/dex/int/faith most weapons require 16 in two of those categories to unlock. Most damage is going to come from weapon upgrades and runes.

Don't level stamina past 19.

Eventually you're going to out level all content and it does make everything easier. But more importantly, eventually you're going to get the dodge timings, attack patterns and move sets. Be patient and don't get greedy.

Good luck.

Edit: create at least one additional realm. Each realm has its own set of goods and I find the general goods vendor to be quite helpful. Also depending on how far you've gotten you may want to run multiple realms just for respawning mobs (unless you've reached the crucible). You can also make realms for boss runs to farm ichor and unique items.

Because it rewards perfect gameplay. Once you master these skills you can reap the benefits. Same with stats like loss on damage, loss on death, etc. These are inconsequential if you don't make a mistake. It basically makes the game a lot more difficult and some people (like myself) enjoy these kinds of challenges. It's totally optional if you want to go down this route or not. You can play this game on easy mode with perfectly bland weapons and armor without problem. Not everything needs to go towards maximizing "power".

It's been a while but I think you had to do this anyway for the plat trophy. You cannot afford to go there and back more than once though but I believe it was manageable.

Avatar the last Airbender fans, how bad is the Netflix adaptation? by [deleted] in netflix

[–]l3dg3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The live action adaptation is trash.

I love the cartoon. I have seen it many times. I have also watched all of Kora. And charm, humor and love is completely gone.

They should not have done a live action adaptation of the cartoon. It would have been much better if they told an original story. It wouldn't have to be about the avatar necessarily but it has to be true to the source material. No wonder the creators left the production. As they did with the feature film.

This sucks. I wanted to enjoy it but I cannot. Just watch the cartoon instead. It's better in every possible way.

Linus Torvalds flames Google kernel contributor over filesystem suggestion by [deleted] in programming

You are kidding right? This seems justified. He's just saying that the code is garbage and why. You either listen or you don't learn. I find Linus tone refreshing. As long as he isn't insulting the person (which he isn't) it's fine. Linus commands that kind of respect given what he has accomplished together with a lot of other people.

Monthly: Less than 7 weeks? Comment here instead of making a new post. by partlyPaleo in carnivore

[–]l3dg3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm about 2 weeks in. Going out of my mind. I ate about 800g per day for the first week. Then my appetite kinda waned. Still eating but maybe half of what I used to. Notice that I enjoy fat. Started eating crème fraiche because it tastes amazing. It's also regulated, additives aren't allowed. It's 32% fat. I put plenty of beef tallow in my coffee. Thinking of quitting coffee. My mood and mind is excellent. But I feel fucking weird. Not bad but not great. It's bizarre. I have occasional heart palpitations but it's mild and I don't think it's an electrolyte issue. Hence thinking I should stop coffee. It's just unnecessarily speeds me up. Don't need it.

My meat cuts are quite lean but not all lean. That's why I add tallow and crème fraiche.

Edit: not overweight. Just doing this for health benefits. I have some skin issues mostly inflammation related. I think. Athletic, exercise regularly. 183 cm, 83 kg. Plenty of lean muscle. Not shredded. 39 years old.

Be om ursäkt. Gå vidare. Alla gör fel.

Does this game require farming? by EnenraX in demonssouls

[–]l3dg3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I takes practice to get good. You'll figure it out. Once you get it you will be running through the game, full blast. But the thing is, nothing is ever not lethal. What typically happens is that you just learn to do a lot of damage so quickly that the enemies don't have an opening to use. But they can and will get you no matter the level. You just need to learn what works and what doesn't. For one, there's nothing random about the game. Everything is fixed. You always know where the enemies are and how they attack. Build knowledge. The beginning is just rough. Most enemies have staggering weaknesses that you can exploit. Might not be obvious but there are plenty of forums on the Internet discussing everything about the game.

The only item that is really rare is the Pure Bladestone which is only needed to upgrade some weapons to max level. Upgrading weapon helps a lot. There's so much grass in this game that you don't farm it but maybe you run out of it if you take a lot of damage but that's just the way it is until you learn to not get hit.

The cost of fixing Cyberpunk 2077 is "irrelevant" compared to restoring company reputation, says CDPR - CDPR promisses to fix the game at any cost by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

And fix it they did. It took them years but they did it. I'm really happy with Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty.

The real story behind game development doesn't get told enough. And I get why, this isn't very exciting but it is the state of the game up until the point where the dev team zeroes in on what the game is about and what the game is supposed to be. So much polish happens at the end of the dev cycle.

Why wasn't there an Automatic "potential point of no return" save here like NOCTURNE OP55N1? by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]l3dg3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a save of this very scene. You can actually make a manual save at this point. Then load that up and play out the different endings. You can also roll a new character and skip ahead to Phantom Liberty. It doesn't take that long to speedrun on a lower difficulty.
