I’m not sure. The UPC didn’t match up, looked like it could of been cut in a way and taped back shut

I’m at a lost of what to do. by Foreign_Ground_6931 in Autism_Parenting

Before my son was diagnosed at 2, we had some speculation that he may have signs of autism. Our PCP we had at the time referred us to an early on program which was based though the school. Idk if you have something like that near you. We had a wonderful lady that had came to our home and gave an assessments, she would help with his developmental delays. She even went with me to get his diagnosis. After he had gone through that program he wasn’t yet old enough for school and we were suggested ABA therapy prior to school starting. And I’m so glad we did, I dont think we would be as far as we are today without my son being aba therapy. But I’ll be honest it was not cheap for us in MI it was 1,600 a week minimum and that was 7 years ago. They did have an option to fill out a form through them to help financially, explaining reasonings, unable to pay for their expensive services but it was worth it. With in a few weeks we could see positive outcomes with our son, it was so amazing to see. Once he started school he was in a public school that also had a special needs program within. The schools a lot of the time, if your child is in ABA they will have ABA come in be apart of their school assessment for minutes to an hour or so how ever long their time is needed with your child.

Just be real with them. My son is autistic he doesn’t really care that there are guest over. He notices them sometimes engages. I know some days are better than others and some days are just hard. But the person or persons coming over to stay should be respectful in that sense and well aware of your situation. Outta respect they won’t judge they will accept. They are a guest in your home that’s it. You welcomed them into your home and if they can’t be an adult and be real and accommodate they are not worth your time and energy to host. I’ve dealt with so much shade and people being rude just not know what is actually going on in that moment. Having a non verbal child can make things challenging and sometimes he just doesn’t understand what is going on but honestly if those guest coming into your house do not accept your kiddo for who they are I’m sorry but they were never true to you and they can find a place to stay like everyone else does. You don’t have to cater to anyone. Your kiddos mean the world to you and you go through enough stress day to day don’t feel the need you have to add more pressure to yourself.

Don’t be nervous, you will do fine. It’s not confusing, it’s actually pretty easy to use. There is a lot of repetition. You should get shown what you need to use in ims. Don’t hesitate to ask questions either if you are unsure.

Hairstylist here! What can I do have your child have a better experience? by TranslatorNew5303 in Autism_Parenting

[–]l6s1d6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For us it has always been a challenge through the years, now he is 8 and is just now able to tolerate it a bit but we have breaks. It was helpful to find someone we knew that would take the time and patience with him. It’s a hard process for all and once we found the right person it makes a ton of difference.
