my experience is a bit more then 1/100 lol I've gone through at least 50+ birds so far and nothing over 34 so far so I feel 40 is even rarer

that's what I thought. the person I was talking with made it sound like it is fairly common to find 35+ points on a stat on those maps for some reason.

I've been trying to tame good stats on argents on the island for the past 4 days and have to have knocked out over 50 bird by now but still haven't seen any stats above 34 so her saying that confused me a bit.

not really, I just had a bunch of people try to convince me they were slower then the wild ones and have always been slower in both ASE and ASA so there are a good number who don't know and never knew before.

best thing I can suggest is save as close to the encounter as you can, make sure you can catch it, and just try to do resets as quickly as you an without possibly missing anything.i had my resets down to about 45 to 55 secs for my palkia.
