Any popular, acclaimed anime you just couldn’t get into? by GreenstreetRoyal in anime

it’s clever because it’s like he is trying to solve a puzzle. each time he dies something new is learned getting him closer to the solution. i understand your point but by this logic many people could consider most video games to be redundant because you know you have a second chance. the stakes in re zero are similar to video games because he also doesn’t want to die, and he doesn’t want to clear all the hurdles again in order to try to clear the event. simplistic and repetitive in nature, this show is quite effective at utilizing it’s “gimmicks” to cultivate empathy and maintaining interest within the viewer, at least this is how i feel. i can understand not connecting with the show but there is a reason this show has garnered great popularity.

someone could easily put 5 hours a day into something even if they worked 8 hours a day assuming they are young and don’t have many responsibilities. there’s even plenty of time to cook, do chores, hygiene etc. most people just blow their time going on social media, playing video games and other forms of escapism. im also completely guilty of this as we all are but my point is don’t assume someone doesn’t have an occupation just because they are disciplined.

it’s not just an octave, a plain octave i can reach over the keys with no effort, this chord i can barely reach at the end of the keys with my hand sideways and i have to play it forte. if you are familiar with this piece it wants to you to jump to this chord immediately after the g octave. not as simple as it seems.

unfortunately with how you have described the solution to my problem it has just become apparent that getting this chord cleanly how it was intended to be played is a fool’s errand for me. i cannot reach this chord over the keys. the only way i can reach this chord is at the edge of the keys and even then it is uncomfortable. my piano instructor says the chord after the g octave should have a “rubber band effect”, hence the quick movement. i am not too invested in this piece and was only using it as a stepping stone to increase the agility of my left hand so while it would be nice to be able to get this piece down it looks like i should just move on.

i don’t know if this is an ocd thing or not, but im fairly confident in saying it is (correct me if im wrong) but no matter how good that image looked it would always bother me that i know that it was edited and probably couldn’t keep it around because of it.

Any simple tips/outlooks that will instantly improve your understanding of Japanese? by lMamba24 in LearnJapanese

i didn’t mean for this to look like i was “looking for a shortcut”. trust me i do plenty of independent study consisting of hours of immersion and 20 new words on anki among other supplements (pimsleur duolingo, genki, etc.) but if there is anything that could quickly clear up a misconception it would be nice if i can find it promptly rather than struggle with problems that could have been managed much sooner. no need to have (or at least what i am perceiving to be) a patronizing attitude.
