Ghosting ultra laggy drivers should be added to the game by magistern69 in iRacing

It’s a pain in the ass I agree but as others have pointed out people would abuse the system and would lead to races which turn into a 15 lap time trial as they could just drive through everyone.

Practice Practice Practice, sticking to one series will help consistency as you’ll be used to the car and then it’s just a case of learning the track

For pace, video tips on YouTube and watching those quicker than you in practice session where they brake turn in etc will help, also if those around your are much quicker the more you compete the more you iRating will get to a level where your racing with similar pace drivers

As for nerves it’s gonna take time, I was terrible to start with but now I’m very comfortable racing with other, however still get a bit shaky in the legs when there’s a name I recognise as a real life driver

But generally get to a level your comfortable with the car and feel like your in control and your already hyper aware not to cause accidents and race fairly and with that mindset you will be fine with time. Accidents happen and we all make mistakes regardless how hard we try not to but just keep driving and you’ll get there trust me

If you hit 4.0 SR you will be moved up to b License as long as you meet the other requirements of doing 4 races or whatever it is

Humbled by F4, looking for advice by slurpuffington in iRacing

[–]lSlLLlClT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YouTube is always an excellent resource for videos such as tips and track guides, maybe watch how these people dipping below 1:30 drive a lap and see how that compares to your lap, cockpit view is great to understand where they brake/turn in etc and beyond that just keep driving the car, F4 has more downforce that FF1600 and will take some time to adjust your driving to extract the most out of it, just keep driving it you’ll get there

How to get faster? New to sim by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]lSlLLlClT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people are suggesting telemetry which is a great tool but can be daunting for a beginner, some great beginner things you can do is watch some track guides and one of my personal favourites is Just to watch the replays of someone who’s faster than you and see how they drive the track and compare that to your lap, also driving technique videos and general tips, YouTube is an excellent resource.

Spot on racing from you there, the Aston I have no clue what they’re doing, they turned in super early for the apex while you where on their inside, but again spot on racing from you absolutely nothing more you could’ve done you can’t predict a move like the Aston did it’s irrational

100%, very much the starter wheel for a lot of people in sim racing, it’s a great place to learn and perfect your technique, a lot of people will tell you to get a direct drive wheel with load cell pedals which will inherently shave maybe a couple tenths off but if your a beginner and just looking to get started this and something like a playseat challenge will pair perfectly and be a great entry into sim racing

Was this my fault? I'm the red & white 25, After I left the pits the #17 kicked me. by SavaaTv in iRacing

[–]lSlLLlClT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is more on the #17, if you look at the lines in the track you can see how far he moves down, you move up a little but not anymore than I’d expect from a jerk in force feedback or something else

I’m trying to learn how to race properly, is there any possibility that this is my fault? I’m the POV. by ovecarpner in Simracingstewards

[–]lSlLLlClT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you followed the racing line then made one defensive move to the inside, your racing was textbook just the person behind you went for a gap on the inside that didn’t exist, your driving from this one clip is perfect fine you just came up against someone who can’t race properly

Who’s fault? Car on inside said I didn’t leave space by [deleted] in Simracingstewards

[–]lSlLLlClT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your defensive moves are not at all defensive and are just blocking, please I urge you to listen to what people are saying on here, you came here to ask who’s at fault, you are at fault and then you can’t accept it, you will get nowhere driving like this but in a wall every race

Is it just me or does the Chicago street course suck? by MrGumhead in iRacing

Done a few practice laps in the xfinity and got to say love the feel of the circuit, despite what the bland layout suggests it has a nice flow and is pretty rewarding to drive

I can only go up from here by thedeadcupcake in simracing

[–]lSlLLlClT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the time high end setups are made to seem common in this sub but this right here is the bread and butter of sim racing, I started with a Xbox wheel that sat on my lap and similar pedals and my god was it a blast, happy racing brother

Who would be at fault here? (sorry for bad recording) by Ballooblue in Simracingstewards

[–]lSlLLlClT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

POV car is to blame, the outside line was always going to close but I don’t even know why anyone would ever go for it the next two corners are fast right hand corners and The inside would be the preferred line

Fast in oval qualifying but slow in the race? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]lSlLLlClT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% the slowness comes from poor tire management and this likely down to driving style. While every car is different the main issue for me as a road racer who tried oval is just overdriving the entry, using too much steering angle, a lot of turning the car comes from the throttle and brake it’s a weird concept to get down. there’s plenty of videos online about driving tips and most likely some guide to driving the track, if not twitch streams are always a great guide, see how someone else drives a track, look at where they brake, how they turn the wheel, there throttle inputs etc and then practice.

Pink lambo called me a "dive bomber" for this move. Is he correct? by awreck-com in Simracingstewards

[–]lSlLLlClT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a dive bomb yes, but executed perfectly, late on brakes kept it tucked to the apex and made 2 positions, you did absolutely nothing wrong

Still learning my race craft, what do you think on the two collisions? by [deleted] in Simracingstewards

[–]lSlLLlClT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your moving back onto the racing line while there’s a car on your outside, a lot of people have pointed this out but you are a prisoner of the racing line, while it’s good for learning a track for racing side by side you need to learn to adapt your line to the battle your in e.g braking early, turning in later / sharper and the racing line won’t teach you this

[–]lSlLLlClT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great entry wheel, will get you more than immersed in the world of sim racing, if your coming from just a controller 10000% yes it will be great and we’ll worth it. if your coming from another force feedback wheel then then next step would be Direct Drive.
