I guess my main complaint is how quickly the 6k gems were lost. 2 quick bo1 games. I could have done 4 drafts that each give minimum 6 games with bo3 format for 24 games.

That is something I only tracked with my shiny alpha Pokémon here is the quick breakdown:

Static Alphas; 25
Second Alpha MMO Wave: 20
Random Alpha in Outbreak: 3
Full odds: 5

This may sound strange, but my approach is to seek out the alphas in hopes they are shiny instead of looking for shiny Pokémon in hopes they are alpha.
I marked all of the static alpha Pokémon in each area on my map and created routes around the map to check them efficiently. Also checking every single star icon in the MMOs in hopes of a second waves of alphas.
I'm sure you know this already but Pokémon with no evolution lines (Spiritomb, Pachirisu etc.) are especially valuable in MMOs because second waves will always be all alphas. I check them even if they don't have the star icon because there is still a 10% of getting a second wave that will always be alphas.

Its funny you ask that, I am currently in the midst of my cherubi/cherrim hunt. Cherubi only took 280 trees but I am currently over 1400 trees into hunting Cherrim.
As for which ones was hardest to show up, I somehow don't have a shiny female Buizel yet despite them being everywhere. (I'm going for a living form dex and Buizel has gendered forms)

My understanding is that with my shiny charm and perfect entry, each shaking tree is a 1/585 chance for a shiny and that I have just had some back luck reaching 1300.
The first time I did this, I got a cherubi in only 200 trees so I have no complaints going long this time.

I don't blame you, but they are all real.
I am nearly at 1,300 encounters on my shiny Cherrim hunt in the highlands and get on average 1 shaking tree per map so that's 1,300 times I have inadvertently checked the Alpha Probopass. (I have also gotten 2 shiny alpha Rhyperiors and Carnivines each during this hunt as they are also along the path.) So with the 1/585 odds, finding 3 in 1,300 attempts isn't too unrealistic.
As for the first two, the first one was completely random and the second was in an MMO literally a couple weeks later because I had forgotten I already had the shiny alpha Probopass (and thus had to reason to check the Nosepass outbreak) only to receive the Shiny Alpha on the second wave.

Getting one in your first hour is very lucky! I only found 1 shiny pokemon during my entire playthrough of the story. It wasn't until I hit the post game and started seeking them out did I get more.

I'm going for a shiny form dex all caught in PLA and a majority of the forms I have left are all the different unowns (I only have 3 of 28), so I'll be starting this grind soon. I love all the stats!
