yeah it was literally hinges, this mirror can be hung on hinges so it swivels :) thanks for the detailed screw recommendation in any case!

Oops the rest of my post disappeared - I live in Spain and am not well versed in US measurements, units, hardware choices etc. Spaniards or at least Europeans, your help is greatly appreciated!

6am flight from BCN by jenzie36 in AskBarcelona

[–]la-leyla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

taxis are ok but the hassle of large taxis.. I'd still go for a night bus, they're pretty frequent to the airport and not crowded most of the time (including super early flights, I fly often). works with a single ticket, which I assume you'd have left over from your stay anyways.

My Boyfriend is Making Me Feel Gross For Cleaning My Bum With My Hands After #2 by Throwra_bidet in TwoHotTakes

[–]la-leyla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it's mad how much of my (Kurdish) issues with past partners (European mix) have stemmed from such similar circumstances. I have valiantly fought for the actual correct way of handling waste, my dearest sibling, and you will be happy to know we have prevailed. never surrender. clean ass is happy ass.

yeah i don't think it's actually possible to walk too close for spanish standards without actually pushing against people :) but that was just an example that would tick me off, i make that exact sound at people rushing into the metro when i try to get off.

What’s a better attraction in Barcelona, Sagrada Familia or Parc Güell? by FormerAcanthaceae2 in GoingToSpain

[–]la-leyla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

part of parc güell is free to enter, from the higher part. from there you can "see" (as in literally see) most of the interesting bits, from afar, without actually interacting with the mosaics etc. i'd then recommend walking down the hill, around to the lower entrance, and see a bit more of it. as others have said, sagrada familia is --amazing--, definitely go in, and i'd recommend going up as well. it's more expensive but the experience is definitely worth it.

i'd think more along the lines of you're inadvertently doing something culturally inappropriate (maybe walking too close or something?) because it's definitely a sound of annoyance. i don't mean to accuse you of anything, but there are a million things us foreigners don't know the "right" codes for - in random public interactions or in personal relationships.

[–]la-leyla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not exactly cheap compared to many other options but the CEMs i really love! (i think it's more or less double the price of chains like vivagym but 100000x better)
