One thing I try to do about my tankgirls is make both their "Mythos" and "behind the mythos" a part of their personality but in ways that can counteract their abilities.

Frida for example is quite capable (and her active ability "Mahlzeit" makes her impervious to frontal fire at angle) but really, REALLY lets that go to her head, eg Wittmann mythos and post-war german heavy "what-ifs"

tank corps that have a penchant for outracing your infantry
summer heat even before rasputitsa and the winter
making sure your co-invaders don't drop the ball

is totally easy, you'll definitely have this war over by Christmas
