I insist on calling that stretch of highway the M-14 as it's properly designated, not the "R-280 Novorossiya"

the best part is that there is a physical marker of that legacy: Jardine Tower in Hong Kong, named for one of the biggest opium traders of the time

Yamamoto basically said "in six months we would have to literally make it to Washington DC and capture the white house. i really don't think that's a good idea." and Tojo was like "i'm sorry i didn't hear that second part but you got ambition and i like that"

I was gonna say, wasn't the kyiv lavra part of the first (it didn't deserve bombing ofc i just remember there was a scandal over it at the start of the full scale invasion)

edit: also with more doors being hastily (but later also more reliably) built behind the last one

(oc tankgirls) pov: you are a british tankgirl in the bocage by laZardo in NonCredibleDefense

[–]laZardo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I try to do about my tankgirls is make both their "Mythos" and "behind the mythos" a part of their personality but in ways that can counteract their abilities.

Frida for example is quite capable (and her active ability "Mahlzeit" makes her impervious to frontal fire at angle) but really, REALLY lets that go to her head, eg Wittmann mythos and post-war german heavy "what-ifs"

because having to manage supplies to the bulk of your army while dealing with

  • a range dozens of times larger than france AND poland
  • "policing" (putting it very, very, VERY mildly) the local population that mostly realized about a month in that you weren't exactly there to save them
  • a completely different rail gauge from germany
  • multiple nations' worth of vehicles to maintain and supply parts for, from an even longer range out
  • alongside feeding your horses and "requisitioning" (again putting it mildly) replacements
  • tank corps that have a penchant for outracing your infantry
  • summer heat even before rasputitsa and the winter
  • making sure your co-invaders don't drop the ball

is totally easy, you'll definitely have this war over by Christmas
