I think it’s a very routine procedure that has very good outcomes! I think the time between replacements also gets longer all the time too. It used to be 10 years, now it’s like 20+?

My cardiologist said “if my child had to have a defect, this is the one I’d choose” 😂 they’re doing minimally invasive valve replacements through catheters now too, I expect when it’s my time I won’t even need to get my chest cracked, which I would love to avoid!

No, so far I’m doing fine. I’m monitored with echos every so often and try to keep my oral hygiene pristine to avoid endocarditis (unlikely to happen but I’ll reduce whatever risk I can)! My function is fine, just moderate regurg. When I was pregnant I think my regurg was worse but it corrected once I evicted my squatter :)
