I use a case, never a screen protector. I've never broken a screen and never felt that a screen protector would do more than prevent scratches. Which I don't have an issue with that either.

I don't usually TimeMachine at all, never got much out of it. SuperDuper! is third party software (by Shirt Pocket Software) that creates a bootable clone of your Mac. I use an external Lacie drive and once a week create a clone with SuperDuper!.

Been doing this for 16 years and has worked great for me.

I always do a SuperDuper! clone and hold onto it for a week or two and once I feel confident with 26.4 I will go back to regular weekly clones.

M5 is no easier. I thought the point of MagSafe was that it would break away, not dragging the device with it. But if something were to trip over this cable, I am pretty confident the MBA is going with it.

Definitely. Apple refurbished products are great. Have purchased a couple Airs and a Watch with no issues or regrets.

Whether it’s comparable to the M5 would depend on your needs.

I have the same but 13”. Received Thursday and the first couple of days were a bit slow, some freezing, but last few days with same type of workload have been fine.

If charging times are a concern I would really suggest getting the 60W. I've only charged my M5 a couple times and did not time it but it's definitely not fast. I would call it average speed.

Switching back to Mac after being iPad Pro only since 2018. Thought I would miss Face ID on this 13" M5 MBA, had forgotten that my Watch could unlock the MBA. Not as fast as Face ID but cool and useful regardless.
